About this mod

Changes the default eye textures so they appear less foggy and more vivid. Dark brown is now properly dark and velvety, and blue, green and hazel are brighter and more defined.

2014 Update: Heh, I'm actually quite surprised this mod is still being used (I made it years ago), so apologies for the lack of any reply from me to any problems.

Thanks to all who've endorsed and commented on it over the years.

I've uploaded a version that will hopefully work with Nexus Mod Manager

*Eyes Without Cataracts - Fallout 3 Mod*

Changes the default eye textures so they appear less foggy and more vivid. Dark brown is now properly dark and velvety, and blue, green and hazel are brighter and more defined.

Thanks to Darknss and the RealEyes mod - I used those textures as a base.

Manual Installation:

1. Extract contents to the Data folder in your installation directory.

2. Open up FALLOUT.ini in "My DocumentsMy GamesFallout 3" with Notepad or other text editor and locate the following line "bInvalidateOlderFiles=0" and set it to 1.

3. Open (or create if it does not exist) ArchiveInvalidation.txt in your Data folder, and add the following lines:

textures/characters/eyes/eyebluef.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyeblue.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyegreenf.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyegreen.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyedarkbrownf.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyedarkbrown.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyedefaultf.dds
textures/characters/eyes/eyedefault.dds

NB I'd recommend using the Nexus Mod Manager utility for mods (NMM - available here on the Nexus) because there's an ArchiveInvalidation option; no more messing around with Notepad.

Uninstallation:

Delete the lines in ArchiveInvalidation.txt and delete the "eyes" folder in "Datatexturescharacters".
