A while back I decided to replace the Radioactive Gum Drops with a new food item. Atomic Power Bars. I just found that texture and food item to be extra crappy, and, I had some ideas I wanted to incorporate as part of an overhaul mod I am working on -- Fallout 3 Redux.
I also wanted to develop my texturing skills, and felt that this is one area of the game that decent mods for haven't been created for. I also didn't just want to create high-res versions of the original ones, but put some extra effort into these textures and add to the world of Fallout -- you'll understand when you read some of the packaging fine print ;).
I started off with one, then a second, then a third one and before I knew it, I had done them all! Well, all the ones that are part of the one 'foodpackaging.dds' texture. So there are new textures for:
> Bubblegum -- now: Red Chief Gum!
> Radioactive Gum Drops -- now: Atomic Power Bar!
> Potato Crisps -- now: Rocketship Ice Cream!
> Instamash
> Dandy Boy Apples -- now: Dandy Boy Cherry Poppers!
> Cram
> Yum Yum Deviled Eggs -- now: Whole Hog Lard!
> Salisbury Steak
> Blamco Mac & Cheese -- now: All-Natural Powered Milk!
> Pork N' Beans
> Fancy Lad Snack Cakes -- now: Bad Wolf Honey Buns!
Both Atomic Power Bar and Pork N' Beans have new models (nifs), with Pork N' Beans having a new can texture. The ones that needed it now have new Pipboy inventory icons. I also changed the stats for Atomic Power Bar, Rocketship Ice Cream (and Junk Food variant) and Whole Hog Lard. This is along with changing names for others, in that I felt the stats undersold the new food items -- especially the rare Atomic Power Bars.
In the future I may do the rest found in the game, at which point I'll update this mod.

First, your going to either have to manually set archive invalidated or use Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) to do this automatically for you -- or ArchiveInvalidated invalidated. I'm not going to tell you how to do these, try searching Nexus or Googling it ;).
Then:
1. Extract the mod files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\Fallout 3\Data\
4. Start Fallout Launcher click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the BetterFoodPackaging.esp file.
OR: Run Fallout Mod Manager and checkmark the file in the mod list and then Launch Fallout 3.

This is more of a modder's resource so people are free to use it as long as credit is given to myself and to those below; however, please don't port it over to New Vegas. I will be doing that myself when I get around to it. Thanx.
