About this mod

This resource pack contains the materials from the animated billboards and posters concept that I had been working on, but haven't been able to find the energy to actually finish.

NOTICE:

Do to the FBI shutting down MegaUpload, the modifications link is at this time unavailable.

I'll keep an eye on the progress of things and if the FBI decides to continue to deny us access to our property indefinitely, I'm sorry to say that people will have to settle for the regular direct downloads and I will try and see if I can find a full copy of my resources and make them available that way.

With best regards
Corehound

I uploaded these materials to another forum, but felt that I didn't want to leave out the Nexus members, so I decided to upload the files here as well :0)

Please note that the download only contains a link to the files uploaded to MegaUpload.

As people here on Nexus haven't been able to read on the post where I talked about this project here's a short recap.

Basically the concept is a part of a larger project where I've turned up the volume on the Sci-Fi aspect from the default "Retro-Sci-Fi" to a more "Hi-Tech-Sci-Fi" and as a part of this I also wanted to up the billboards and posters of the game, so I started working on making them more holo-like and animated.

The models work by using alpha shading to make a series of images turn on and of in a cycle, thereby creating some simple animation like movement of whatever is displayed on the poster or billboard.

More simply it can also be used to just make images shift between one or two different adds.

This is a quick example made:

In this example the posters will switch between two different images.

The first image has the longest visible interval, with the second one only as a 3 sec flash every 5 secs and then returning to the first image again.

The best part about the concept idea is that it would be able to work as a direct replacer (i.e. just place the models in the default data directories of the vanilla models), no plug-in files, scripts or repositioning needed.

This resource pack contains the materials from the animated billboards and posters concept that I had been working on, but haven't been able to find the energy to actually finish.

The materials are far from done and are therefor very buggy and will not work as intended in-game at this stage.

To actually be able to make this a fully working mod people will have to know how to use NifSkope and more importantly know how to set up animation trigger times for alpha with NifSkope, which is the key to making these models work and that was also where I got stuck and bored with the project, as I didn't have the patience to really figure this part out.

Almost all the models have 4 or more layers, but at the time that I abandoned the project I had only been able to make two of the layers to show correctly in-game, for some reason even though the animations were running perfectly in NifSkope itself, this was not the case in-game, which @#%ยค! me off, probably also why I got tired of working on it hehe.

As I recall it, I should have set up all the required billboards and posters from the game, however please note that only posters with a frame are included as it didn't felt right lore wise that posters simply plastered on the walls should have any kind of advanced display.

Included are also a couple of simple textures with numbers that I used to easier see if the layers were showing in the right order.

Anyway that's it, hopefully someone will find them fun to mess around with, no permissions is needed to repost or redistribute these materials either in their current form or altered.
