Now right-click the Adjustable HUD mod and select Open in explorer. Open menus\prefabs\aHUD and copy "hudtemplates_darn.xml" In the prefabs folder create a new folder named darn, then open this new folder. Paste the "hudtemplates_darn.xml" file into this folder, then rename it "hudtemplates.xml". It will then be used in the game instead of the version of this file in DarnUI Support for FWE.
This is what you need to do in order to get aHUD to actually move elements. I deleted the existing "hudtemplates.xml" file in my darn folder in my FO3 data. then i pasted in "hudtemplates_darn.xml" and renamed it to "hudtemplatyes.xml" booted the game and bang i could move s#*! finally. what a lovely fix, i found this here - https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Kelmych/Fallout3
Thank you for the fix. Just to clarify, your instructions won't work if the XML is misspelled as "hudtemplatyes.xml" xd it's supposed to be "hudtemplates.xml" or "HUDTemplates.xml" any misspellings and the game won't recognize the file.
I did as you wrote (without misspelling :P) and for some reason moveable HUD elements: compass, health, AP disappeared. Deleting folder 'darn' made them appear again, but of course now I cannot adjust them how I like. I tried a few things but I'm stumped.
I can't figure what is wrong but I have Darnified and MTUI working fine but aHUD seems to do nothing even after doing the .xml file swap and renaming. I have no idea how to move anything. I used to use these same mods back before the GOTY edition released so I have done this before. And yes I have FOSE working plus BulletTime, Sprint mod, and Ironsights. Just can't get aHUD usable.
Well I was a bit dumb on this one. What I had going on was a single handed gamer keyboard I was using was pretty new for me then. Which I programmed F6 to a key there but did not know at the time that I have to also program in "hold when held". So F6 did not work for me.
Sorry for the super late fix but just noticed this post again.
Anyone know of a mod that lets me scale the HUD? Width and length. When I use this mod and remove the bracket for the compass, the compass looks small and I'd like to stretch it or scale it to be the size like in Skyrim.
@Aibal Thanks for your suggestion. It worked like a charm. I really don’t like UIO. By the way, you can still use the Unified HUD Project. I know Gopher says it’s used up but I prefer it. The thing about UIO is if you uninstall and deactivate mods a lot, you will have issues with it. If you don’t, you’ll be fine. But I’m always configuring things so UIO is not good for me
has anyone been able to get aHUD to work recently in the last like year maybe. Darn works fine in my game with FWE and MMM, aHUD just doesnt do anything, cant adjust any elements whatsoever.

No UIO
Install DarN+Hotfix
Then Install iHUD, overwrite when asked
Lastly install aHUD, overwrite when asked
Played around with it for awhile and that was the only process that worked for me, worth a shot if it's not working for ya.
