About this mod

Dalek energy weapon based on one in Doctor Who - Evolution of the Daleks.

Dalek-Human Gunstick

What is it?

An energy weapon, inspired by and based on the guns used briefly in the new series of Doctor Who (episode S03E05 - Evolution of the Daleks). Complete with a custom model. It's also somewhat of a god-item, as the damage done is pretty high (except in stun mode).

It is, obviously, not Fallout lore-friendly, so if you intend to play the game and stick to the lore, this mod isn't for you.

Can be repaired using laser rifles, though they can't be repaired using this.

There are three modes, and changes to the next when you equip the gun. They are:

Stun mode - Much lower damage, but the enemy is paralyzed for 7 seconds. Uses 1 ammo

Automatic mode - The standard firing mode, set to automatic firing. Uses 1 ammo.

Maximum mode - Much higher damage, but uses 3 ammo per shot, and isn't automatic. Disintegrates enemies on death.

Note: I've made sure that when changing modes, the weapon damage doesn't reset. However, if the clip isn't full it will refill. No ammo should be lost or added this way.

Installation

Unpack everything to Fallout 3\Data\
There should be nothing to overwrite unless you're updating.

Issues

- When using VATS, with only 1 or 2 ammo in the clip, the maximum version won't be able to shoot or reload, so you'll have to reload automatically before entering VATS.

Where is it?

I've placed a container with it and some ammo (micro fusion cells) in the Megaton house, next to the door. Hopefully this won't interfere with other mods, but I can change it if it does.

If you don't have the megaton house, you can add it through console (~ key by default) by typing:

player.additem xx000ea7 1

Where xx is the index of this mod. You can find it easily by checking Fallout Mod Manager.

Version history

1.0 - July 5, 2010 - Initial release.
1.01 - July 6, 2010 - New textures (yes!). Projectile beam, impact and muzzle flash changed to blue. Fixed the stun mode being set to automatic fire (it isn't now). Messed with the firing speed, so the automatic isn't so slow anymore.
1.01 optional - July 26, 2010 - Added a version with half the damage done to the files, for those who think it's too overpowered as-is.

eleglas for the recolored projectile beam (also July 6th)
BBC, I guess, for Doctor Who, which is what this particular weapon comes from.
