INTRODUCTION--------


Hire Cherry as a follower after you drop her off at Rivet City.

NEW VERSION 0.9.6


Added new stealth device. Added Clothes Changer. Additional waiting package - Stealth. Several updates.


DETAILS------------

Talk to her anytime after you have received the Karma reward. The cost to hire her is 1000 caps, but you can hire her for free in you pass a speech check. Also, a high barter skill will allow you to hire her for 500 caps.


FEATURES-----------


-Cherry does not count towards Follower total, so you may hire her regardless of Follower count.

-Sandbox / Guard / Stealth package for the wait command. Set via dialog.

-Cherry's confidence will be leveled up after you hire her. She will no longer run away during combat.

-Trade menu enabled. She can carry equipment; she can wear all types of armor.

-Alternating commands including:
-Weapons out/away.
-Follow Distance: Short / medium / far.
-Combat Style: Melee / Ranged.
-Essential On/Off.
-Add/Remove Unlimited Ammo Weapon [after completion of short quest].
-Change Hairstyle. Several styles to choose from.
-Clothes changer. Enable/disable through dialog. Armor/sleepwear. When disabled she will wear whatever is in her inventory.
-Turn ON/OFF stealth device after giving her a Stealth Boy.


-Home Menu. Fire Cherry, relocate her home to anywhere, relocate her home back to Rivet City Via Dialog.

-2-way communicator. Call Cherry, ask her to come to your location. ETA depends on her distance to player.


CHANGELOG---------


v0.9.6...Added new stealth device. Requires giving Cherry a Stealth Boy through dialog topic [Take this stealth Boy...]. You must have a stealth boy in your inventory to see the dialog topic. Device only active when crouching. Added a clothes changer, activate through dialog [Let's talk about what you're wearing...]. Use it to have her Equip a cleaned up version of Talon armor, or her trademark sexy sleepwear. Deactivate through dialog to have her equip clothing from her inventory again. Added new waiting package for use with the stealth device. Tell her to hide and she will wait stealthed, only entering combat if she is directly attacked. Limited idle dialog. She shouldn't be such a chatterbox anymore. Improved menu dialogs/responses. Relocated distance menu to tactics menu. Added dialog response for headset in the case that Cherry is enslaved to Paradise Falls [same as death].

Repaired Broken Fire package. She should now fire correctly when you move her home away from Rivet City. Changed Wait dialog, now an option to have her guard or sandbox is available. Added new idle dialog.

Corrected minor error that was causing Cherry to warp unexpectedly to the player. Small update to magnum quest.

Fixed issue with essential switch when waiting. Switch should work correctly now. Added topic to Headset in case Cherry dies, now she will not answer. Equipping headset after she is dead will give you the option to remove the headset from your inventory.

Minor overhaul. Several conditions changed, several scripts added. Killed the getplayerteammate bug, good riddance. Removed Interior Firing package. This was a good concept, but it was a bad idea. She will now run when fired whether in town or in wasteland. Worked out scripts so that if she is not essential when fired, she will be made essential until she reaches her home destination, then revert to non-essential. If she is essential already when fired, she will stay that way when she reaches home. Added 2-way communicator device. Enable through dialog [ Let's talk about you...]. Equip the headset ( it is in apparel ) to call her. You can ask her to come to your location, added same essential conditions as firing so she will not die on the way to you. Several other minor improvements to dialog.

Added ability to relocate Cherry's home. Added new 'Home' dialog menu. Added ability to relocate Cherry back to Rivet City Common Room via Dialog. Cherry now auto-heals after combat. Added 'you' menu. Relocated Start Quest topic to 'you' menu. Relocated Add/remove unlimited ammo topic to 'you' menu. Relocated Tough menu to 'you' menu. Relocated hair menu to 'you' menu. Corrected several lip files; slight alterations to several dialog topics. Added compass markers to Magnum quest. Cherry will now autoheal after combat.

v0.8.0...Altered Unlimited Ammo Weapon Quest. Now entire quest takes place in Rivet City. All quest dialog fully voiced. Continued work on the bug where SetPlayerTeammate reverts to 0. I think I fixed it.

v0.6.1....Dialog correction and minor spelling edit. Lowered base damage of Unlimited Ammo Weapon. It was just too strong. Minor Edit to readme file.

v0.6.beta...Initial release. All companion features fully voiced. Finally figured out how to add the voicings using G.E.C.K. under Windows Vista with no crashing.


FUTURE RELEASES-----

I am almost finished with this mod. I plan to add slightly more dialog just to give Cherry a little more variety when she interacts with the player. I have no other plans. Requests are welcome.


KNOWN BUGS----------

-The weird bug that seems to be in a lot of companion mods, where the NPC will wear their weapon on the back of their hand and fight using unarmed combat animation. An in-game fix for this problem is to use the 'lets trade' option. This seems to reset the correct animation. I don't know of any other fix for it.

-Hair. Cherry's default hairstyle is not compatible with any type of sunglasses, etc. Her hair and eyes appear over the glasses graffic. If you want to use glasses, change her hairstyle. I generally don't favor mods that change the regular vanilla appearance, but I included the hairstyle changer because of this bug.

-She's twitchy. I don't know how to correct this. Maybe she just drinks too much.

-Earthbind for the Lucy West, and Brianna companions. The scripting work on these two is amazing, and defies most of the major laws of gravity. Honestly, I still don't understand most of it, and I could hardly learn from it, but the playability of those two is very inspiring. You get a real sense of a 'leveling up' of these characters. I got the unlimited ammo weapon quest idea from these mods.

-DRG6520 for the Sydney companion. This is a great companion mod. It is full of story and dialouge options, and really is seamless with the vanilla game. The haircut menu would be impossible without the guidance I got from this mod.

-Paxton2 for the idea of the two-way radio [ or something like it... ]. Thanks to Mazakala for the scripting help. Check out his mod Mazas telephones. Can be used as a cheat, but pretty neat anyways. It's at http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6723


FAQ------------------

-Is the 2-way radio a teleporter?
A: Kinda, not really. If Cherry is far enough away from the player, she will warp to his/her location after a timed duration. Otherwise, if she's closer to the Player, she will run to Player's location.

-How is this mod different from the other Cherry mods on the nexus?
A: This mod does not [or should not] affect the vanilla Cherry mission. The companion features included in this mod will not be visible until after Cherry is delivered to Rivet City.

-Is this mod compatible with the other Cherry mods on the nexus?
A: Unknown. I have altered CherrySCRIPT, similiar alterations could create conflicts, especially if variable names are the same.
