I've really got to give all the credits for that to the brave mod creators who've made those sweet texture and mesh replacers. I've also installed a lot of mods from the FNV side that helped to deluxify the world objects. All that stuff makes an absolutely massive difference. Wouldn't even consider playing the vanilla version anymore. Addicted to mods! 😅
And I still miss those cramped sightlines and ruined buildings everywhere, and how much of a pain it was just to get from point A to point B, and suddenly finding yourself in a fight for your life because you took a wrong turn... somewhere...
Thank goodness for the Tales of Two Wasteland mod. Lets me play both FO3 & FNV all in one install! Love it!
I can't believe that after all this time I can actually climb obstacles and sprint in FO3, and have a player character and NPCs who don't look like they were made from Lego bricks by someone evil. Can't even put into words how much I loathe the look of vintage Bethesda characters, especially the eyes. Thank goodness for mods.
And thank goodness for the mod that allows me to nerf the HP of those goddamn ultra-mega bullet sponge enemies like super mutant overlords and albino radscorpions a bit. They're still just as deadly, but at least it doesn't take me a whole weekend to kill one of them. For some reason, FO3 feels really dangerous, unlike the rest of the games. You end up in deadly fights all the time, and have to keep on looking over your shoulder. I keep doing the "Crazy Ivan" every minute or two when exploring.
Thanks for the discovery and Bravo for the shots!!
A pleasure to see
Visiting the Capital Wasteland, and sticking my nose into all kinds of radioactive holes was fascinating after a long hiatus. Lots of great new mods had also become available since the last time ✨
Back in the day, I used to have FO3 on DVD, too. I have no recollection of where the disc(s) ended up, but I do remember how this game used to punish my PC. When I finally performed an autopsy on the long-suffering rig, I discovered that the CPU's outer shell had literally burned to a crisp. I couldn't believe my eyes, but at least I found out why the cooling fan used to scream like a jet taking off when I was playing.
First of all, thank you so much.👋👋👋
I don't know if it's because of what I said last time, but I came running here in a hurry because you posted pictures of Fallout 3.😮💨
You can't imagine how happy I am to see these pictures.🤩
The nostalgic Megaton, the ruined city, that friendly ghoul guy (I can't remember his name), the teleportation facility, the old computer terminal, the cabinet and refrigerator, and Washington D.C. (is that right?) Everything is still there.😹
I can't believe I remember it so clearly after not playing it for 10 years more!!
These are the best Fallout screenshots ever.👍👍👍
Thanks again my good friend!😭😭😭
Yeah, our talk made me think of all the screencaps I have of the Capital Wasteland, so I decided to post some of them, and take a few fresh ones, too. Got to say it's incredibly tough to take pictures in Fallout 3 because there's no proper photo mode/posing/lighting system available. I can just about live with the limited poses and clumsy console x/y/z positioning (that's very buggy), but not having proper lights is a real bummer. So many locations are dark, so it's difficult and often impossible to get a good shot. But still, there are so many iconic locations in the Capital Wasteland that it's worth the trouble!
See you again at Night City! 😂😂😂
