This is a chilling story you're conjuring up here. But very much in line with that hellish place. It's been a very long time. But The Pitt is one of those DLCs you'll never forget.
I know this is an old thread. I am trying to catch up before the new notification system deletes everything. A lot of ninjas. But rest assured that I've seen - and read - each and every of your entries
I hope that you are doing well - in spite of all that's happening in the world today. Stay safe

Ooof, several months late, but in case you ever see this - thank you. I love the Pitt and Marie's story always fascinated me, and IMO the ending of the DLC isn't really satisfying in regards to her fate - especially if you took what is considered to be the "good" option. Hence, this story.
I really enjoyed making it, but then I realised I had written myself into a corner with a planned twist, which ended up sapping my enthusiasm for it and I've allowed it to languish, unfinished. And it was reasonably close to the ending, too...

I hope you are also doing well, Bernt. As for myself, I'm hanging in there.

Oh dear, doesn't look like a smart decision from the family to divulge the mercs on Marie's current whereabouts.

I'm amped for more. Nice work, Ghanima

She kept her real name a secret for 2 months then let it out at the last moment?!
Maybe if Kyle had overheard her while he was spying on her (boy alone on a farm with no girls around besides family...).

Yes, because she decided she could trust them after everything they'd done for her, and her real name was something personal she could share in parting.
She's a sheltered 16 year old girl, not a hardened fugitive. ;) Someone with more wasteland experience might have been more cautious.

Had that been the Enclave, that would've probably gone down one or two ways. West Coast Detachments would have used intimidation tactics, like Frank Horrigan and his troops, likely killing the family regardless of cooperation or not.. East Coast Detachments would have likely compromised some niceties like the Talons did, though I imagine the differences are when they divulge that information about her whereabouts.. *Bang*

    Excellent chapter, Ghanima!

      Yes, I imagine so.
The Talons are mercenaries however, so they only kill those they are paid to kill. Although I have no doubt they wouldn't hesitate the moment they thought the family is becoming troublesome.

      Thanks!

    That probably wasn't very smart.
