I have never done and will never do the slaver quest from 3. Even playing with adult mods in 4 or Skyrim, when I play an evil slaver character I have 1 hard rule: No kids. Paradise Falls deals in kids, so all they ever get from me is the business end of a high powered rifle or shotgun. As for Arkansas, I give him a taste of his own medicine with a sniper rifle of my own from the edge of town.

Thnak you Kain I see your point here. A very valid one. I've enver been able to play as an eveil character for long in any game. I always end up with doing the right things and talking nicely to people. That said I see Arkansas as my ticket to PF. I refuse to pay Grouse anything but a load of buckshot to his face. But I want Clover as a companion - even though I have to use a cheat mod to get her. Another thing is - I don't know if your'e already aware of it- a sidequest allowing you to rescue 3 kids before you go all minigun on the place: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Rescue_from_Paradise
If done properly it's a sort of "in your face" to the slavers.

I go ahead and pay Grouse. It stays in his inventory, so when you finally say "screw it" and mini-nuke the place you can get it back. I always rescue the kids and as many other slaves as I can, and I had a mod reducing the requirements to get Clover and enabling you to free her after building a relationship with her.

I may hate slavers, but not enough to consider the slaves acceptable collateral damage.

Ah yes. That's the joy of installing mods that balance the game. It keeps you honest and adds to the experience. Certainly, you are able to obliterate an enemy with a single shot, but they're quite capable of reciprocating. Personally, it vastly enriches the game for me. Oh look, immersion and roleplaying? What a concept.

First time I played FO3 it was that old coot that taught me that I needed to stealth, been a stealthy sort of a douchecanoe ever since

He was cetainly one of the harder encounters, and right off the bat too boot. So your young and fragile and get sent to recover landmines and BAM... reload. WTH? Where...? How...? Took me a while to even see him and evn longer to sneak up close enough to counter snipe him. He was a tough old bast... err... bugger too. We traded shots back and forth for a bit but I got him in the end. Was a great sense of accomplishment taking out someone at that early stage of the game.

Indeed. trying to concentrate on not being blown up. And then all of a sudden something starts eating away at your HP. Who.... where.... what.....!! Then I started shooting him, but later on I found out it was more fun to mezz him and send him off to PF. It's quite a challenge and you take a karma hit. But it is well worth it

He's easy to get, with a stealth boy. I usually sneak right up to him with the Mez... and send him on his way to Paradise. I got no problem with doing that to someone who can take me out with one shot. He's nothing but an old psycho nut job, that kills everything on sight.

I never got that close to the old, ornery coot! He one shot me so many times.....I waited until I had a good sniper rifle and then bagged him from afar. Good job on the sneak!

You're being too good to him It's a nice challenge if you play a sneaky type. And - as Cephaler says - if you use a stealth boy it is fairly easy to get close. Especially under the cover of darkness. I had a stealth boy in my inventory but chose not to use it this time.

Wait--you can talk to him? I was never able to get that close, always took him out with a sniper rifle--he was a right royal pain in the patootey.

Heh - I would have thought that a sneaky cat - is there any other kind- like you would have found out about that a long time ago. Sooner or later I wipe out PF. But first off I use Arkansas as a ticket to get inside and hire Clover - I refuse to pay Grouse anything but a load of buckshot to his face. Besides - he's been so annoying that I think a bullet is too good to him

Nicely done. You have to be real good to get that close. It took me forever the first time to figure out where the shots were coming from. Now I sneak in from the side or behind and still try to pick him off at long range. He is a bad one. Side note (similar situation): I got Boomer, the fat man wielding raider at Zimonja, last night. I was sneaking in real slow and careful. But then,my companion, Max, broke cover, ugh. He started lobbing grenades before Boomer had a chance to load. Close only counts in horse shoes and grenades (and mini-nukes). Too easy.

Thank you Laird Yes - the first couple of times in Minefield I was really lost on what to do. I just saw my HPs being chewed away without knowing why - and what to do about it. Now I always - and very carefully- sneak up on him and send him off to PF. It's a challenge for sure. But one I enjoy Shooting him is too easy

The bad guys get the best weapons, too. Don't know about the cold but definitely very dark.

Not so sure either. Just had to pick a suitably lame title But the description actually told me where to find the gun............. Duh!! Guess I'll get the version that puts it in the hands of Talon too. Will give me yet another reason to hate them Thank you Hammer
