About this image

An old pic from my modded game, plz comment if you are interested, though I realize non vanilla stuff is not so popular, but to me the vanilla game was a touch too gloomy for continued play after you have done all the quest content. The Flora mod by vurt while good was just not enough, so I changed things !

DC is relatively unaffected but for the Wasteland the effect is that of a totally new game, the look clearly changed, but so too is the way you move and "think" the game, ..... you can no longer own the Wasteland with just a snipers gun. Its relatively light and in standard play is rock solid on 60fps, and still playable at UG7.

All content is new apart from grasses from vurt and his tall pine. If a few of the trees look familiar, that's because an old Oblivion resources mod was my inspiration & starting point, but those models were converted, retextured and then for good measure entirely re meshed for a lighter footprint, the rest is stuff I made for other mods but thought it would look good here too.

I haven't played Fallout 3 so I can't fully appreciate the context of this image but I love this beautiful colorful scene.
    Nicely done.

Thank you for the kind words, sorry I never replied earlier, my bad.
I only just noticed you when I went to the main NEXUS page, I visit several game pages regularly but FO3 kind of dropped off the list a while back as I became more busy on FO4.

Yes I love the colors too and made it my icon image, it was part of a 3 shot panorama using my vegetation mod. But I decided not to release the mod as I pretty much figured that those that still play it like it the way it is, ..... as a hard core, gruesome, survival shooter, in a bleak and destroyed world. I do like FO3 but it is purely a shooter, .... think & act fast or die, its a harder game than FO4, where you never have enough food & ammunition, and running away is often a wise move.

FO4 is a much different and more pleasant game and now I have it fully modded to something approaching Skyrim in looks/scenery its a game I can play over and over. Funny how things happen, I needed to stop modding Skyrim for a while or more precisely stop using Blender because of eye sight issues [I am not young]. When I came back to playing games I just played FO3 for a while, then the urge to "fix" it took over, but there were no colorful flora mods or even models at hand, Vurt did a makeover but still left things rather bleak ... so I had to make my own..... etc, etc hence this mod was made.

Good to see you in FO3, Ewarre. Don't excuse your efforts - there are more people around than us that love a tropical attitude to the game. Opens for new thinking and mods if you ask me.
No offense to classical modders/gamers. Variation is good for FO3.
    A mod coming soon?

Hi fredlaus, yes I will be here at FO3 a good while longer as I find it far easier to make & test new models here than in later Beth games, and models are easily converted and moved around once made.
I stopped making stuff for a few months, RL issues, and am hoping to resume soon, but I have several options open and I put this up today as a bit of test to see if there was much interest in such a bold make over, and hence help me set my priorities when I resume. Worst case it will go to the back of the queue and be released later this year all going well.
Yes I know you and I share an interest for the "warmer greener" game look, PM me if you are really keen.

No rush, Ewarre. As I say Fo3 is slowly getting back to its original glory since older mods are updated and so on. I have some time to mod atm because of some broken ribs - fell down from a stepladder almost 6 weeks ago. I am forgetting my age and act like an acrobat.
I will eventually take up my biking too - which takes a lot of time - which I love :)
      See you around then.
