Is it normal for the ai's turns to take around 30-40 seconds? I installed everything correctly and am enjoying the mod, but the length of the turns is turning me off a little.

"1. Good starting locations every new game. No need for Ctrl+N;"

actually, just this, alone, should be a mod all by itself.

what part of which file is this in?

hey, i really want to try this mod out but i'm running into some issues.

I took the "english" folder from the arhive and placed it into the data folder, overwrittting exisitng files.
When I start the game, most of the changes seem to work. In the race selection screen, a lot has changed with the traits and bonuses.

But every race also starts with "sovereign bond" , the trait that summons a familiar that can cast the spells of the summoner.

I don't know if this is intended or not, I could not find anything related in the provided readme doc.
Also i"m running Legendary Heroes v1.5 with all available dlcs.

Yes, every sovereign has his sovereign's bond. Don't remove it. It adds additional perkslot to racial units.

Ops, thanks to g0jira an issue was found "race skill 10% of attack gives 1%". And fixed. The new update was uploaded without changing mod's version.

I've been a long-time player of this game, but just recently decided to delve into modding.  Certainly not new to modding games, just this one.  I'm really curious what people's reviews are of this mod over Children of Storm, as they seem to be the only two major contenders for this sort of thing.  After just reading the descriptions, this mod sounds better, but CoS seems to be the commonly accepted one.

Unless, of course, there is some way to use them both :-P  I may end up giving both of them a try at one point, but I'm definitely starting with this one.

Children of Storm is older than Patchwork mod. Many people played it already, that's why it's commonly accepted. Patchwork mod just recently received bug-free version 1.2. There were bugs, but now I hope it is ready for playback.

Gave it a shot, really enjoying the changes! Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that suffers from the "can't end the turn" bug, and having to save, exit and restart every 5 minutes or so is really turning me off to this game at the moment -_-

I had this issue on 1.0, my laptop very rarely connected to the 'net so I never updated it. I figured the bug would get patched out eventually. Finally decided to install the game on my PC, updated to 1.5+DLCs, and lo and behold the freaking bug is STILL there. Ugh.

Also endorsed it. Like I said, really liking this so far.

I figured something out about the 'infinite end turn' bug. It happens when you enable cheats. If I start a game without the cheats enabled, I can play perfectly fine >.>

The problem is, this mod is kicking my ASS! The AIs are freaking brutal, even on easier difficulty :-P Not a bad thing, just means no cake-walk games anymore :-(

Thank you! Players complained about this bug but I didn't have it and could not explain. I tried to guess what's wrong but all was perfect for me. Thank you very much for your report. Now I will suggest others to swith off cheats.

these changes were very good and would like to know if you are willing to get some review and ideas for future updates.
    reviews:
1 - I believe that the spells could continue with the attribute "per essence", the removal of this took an important aspect of the game, where the number of essences defines the "power" of magic in a city, I understand that the number of essences were brutally increased and this could disrupt the balance of the game, but still feel that this is an important element to the gameplay, I believe that putting a limit solution such as meditation gives 1 mana per essence for a limit of 4 or 5 essences, could help with this.

2 - Towns are places of economic development, Forts used to fortify the borders with the training of new military and Conclaves are for the Research and mana improvements. Giving the "training" structures to all types of buildings basically destroyed the needs of a fort, when playing I usually have 2 to 3 Forts and they were created only to lower the unrest of my kingdom , I know u did this to help the A.I. and if it is possible, that change could be for A.I. alone.

    Ideas:

Those are some Ideas that I believe may help with some troublesome aspects of the gameplay, hope u agree =)

1 - Military Upgrade: the upgrade system is just too much limited, even if you "upgrade" your veteran troops, they still cant match the new ones, for example, I have that small lancer group and they survived until the end, even if I give them the best spear, helm, etc, they'll still be a lot weak and horseless if u compare with the new trained ones, instead of just auto-upgrading, it could open a small window with the possible new weapons, armor, accessories, equipment, traits, etc. Like the customized unit window.
Old traits could be "forgotten" to learn new ones, through the "forget spell", that could be learned by skill tree, and each cast could erase an specific or random trait.
Another thing are the essences buffs and training builds, to improve the spearman group with new stats, we could pay X for them to be immobilized on the city for X turns and then their "training" would be upgraded with the essences and building bonus.

I guess that's "only" this, I know nothing about modding and don't know how hard it is, the lack of time on my day also don't let me learn more about it, I have about 2 hours to play, the others are working or taking care of my kid, I came to you because I found amazing what you did with the gameplay, you changed it without game breaking it, the A.I. is just a lot better, it is true it takes more time between turns, but I guess it is needed for the new calculations.

Those are just my thoughts about what could be changed and what could be added, thanks for that mod and good night =)

will this work with children of storm? I like the idea of the changes this mod makes, but I also want the fantasy races from that mod, can I have both?

Last I checked, sadly, this still wasn't compatible with CoS. However, I'd like to know if there are any plans to ever make this happen, or if it's even possible. The creator of this mod has been some truly incredible work with patching other mods that were previously unusable with more recent patches (Heroic Pursuits comes to mind), and now they all work together with LH 1.5. So anything seems possible...

But this is the only reason I haven't made the switch to this fine mod. CoS adds so much wonderful content (between all the new 100%-unique monsters, the much-needed diversity within the new races, various new items and other brilliant gameplay elements), I don't think I could ever part with it. While I realize this mod adds quite a bit, I'd still prefer getting the best of both worlds, rather than having to choose this over CoS.

Happy to hear it! Thank you so much for all your hard work. The patching you've done breathes so much (and much needed) life back into LH.
