This mod changes various FixedUpdates to LateUpdates, which decouples player movement, enemy animations, projectile animations, and particle animations from the physics rate of 50 Hz. This results in smooth gameplay at any frame rate.
As of 1.0.7, the dev has added camera smoothing, but this mod smooths other elements of the game still.
WARNINGS:
Repairing or moving your install will overwrite this change.
Updating the game will overwrite this change and invalidate the mod until I can update it.
This only works with version 1.0.7 of the game at present. When the game gets updated, I will try to update this as well. If your version is mismatched, you will likely break other core game functions and features. I will include the game version number in the archive name.
This mod core functions of the game and may have other unintended side-effects I did not account for. Let me know if you notice anything and I may be able to update it to account for it, though I've been playing without noticing any problems.
You will see small micro-stutters when you first start a level, first encounter enemies, and first approach a vending machine. This cannot be fixed by me, but it isn't a big deal and smooths out very quickly. If you have persistent stuttering, try the boot.ini file.
