About this mod

A personal tweak to the Second Breath spell series, enhancing its visuals and making the spell heal in a large area around you.

Permissions and credits
Another personal spell overhaul for a mostly underused and ignored spell in Enderal.

This changes the functionality of the Second Breath spell line - the spell now bathes yourself and allies in a field of light, healing in a large area around you.
The area of healing is slightly larger than a Fireball spell, centered around your character.
The mana cost has been increased by 33%, the Arcane Fever penalty has been increased to 3%, and the overall healing potency has been reduced
by 33% to compensate for the rework.

Rationale
The original Second Breath spell is sourced from the Healing Hands/Other spells in Skyrim. They acted as janky touch spells that required you to be less than 6 feet away from your intended target and in your crosshairs to heal them. This makes it nearly impossible to use when playing in third person, and results in a lot of misfires and wasted Mana/Magicka even in first person. The spell gets worse in Enderal, where it eats into Arcane Fever as a penalty even if your heal did not hit the target, and you eat even more fever if your apparition dies from failing to heal them.

The spell now also heals yourself, since it felt weird to see the new visual effects without it affecting your character at all. If you're a Phasmalist with an apparition buddy, or you just want to extend a helping hand to Jespar or Calia in battle, this spell will make it easier to do so.

The spell follows standard Light Magic healing rules, so it won't affect elementals, the undead, or machines. Sorry Sinistropes.

Staff of Healing
The Staff of Healing found in Yero's House also inherits these spell effects, but since the staff doesn't increase your Arcane Fever when using it, the self healing potency has been reduced down to 20% of the base heal's potency to compensate. The staff also consumes 150% more charge so feasibly, you can fire only 20 charges of the staff before needing to refill it compared to the original 50 charges.

While it's not required, you'll want to download Self-targeting Staff Animation Fix - DAR / OAR by wSkeever or Staves On Self Fix by AndrealphusVIII since the staff now targets yourself and Skyrim did not have animations for staves that are cast on self.

Compatibility
The NPC version of the spell is left unaffected, although I don't think there are any NPCs that even cast the spell anyway.

There are two versions of the mod: one for the mod version of Enderal(v.2.1.0+) and the Steam version of Enderal(v.2.0.12). Pick the appropriate version that matches your Enderal.

Quirks

*: Despite the heal looking like it comes from the sky, it doesn't pass through walls or structure bounds - so if there is a barricade between you and the actor you're trying to heal it won't work. The spell is supposed to use the area properties of the engine making it AOE, although I've seen the heal fail sometimes on targets directly behind you. Skyrim Engine, baby.
