About this mod

Adds a dog follower.

Permissions and credits
This mod adds a dog companion to the game. You can find them behind the hanging man in the Sun Coast. The dog levels with the player, and they are set to essential.

Note that, due to vanilla limitations, the dog does not always follow you. There is a Dog Whistle in the satchel by their original location which will teleport them near the player in most cases.

Thank You
  • Daniel (Thesparalius) for explaining how to use Globals, which is basically how all the conditions and packages for this dog work!
  • DDproductions83 for making the video Skyrim CK Custom voiced follower Quickie Tutorial, which is the follower framework I used.
  • Joseph Russell for streaming his work on Lucien, and for his wonderful follower tutorial series, which is how I first learned to make dialogue and use conditions.
  • KuroPurple and Darkfox127 for both taking the time to explain how to setup the renaming function.
  • LevinLozenges for explaining the visions are controlled by Formlists
  • The kind and knowledgeable people on the Arcane University and SureAI discords for patiently entertaining my endless questions.

About the optional Navmesh Finalized mod:
(Use at your own risk)
Spoiler:
Show
There were some interiors that the dog could not initially follow you into. Minor changes and refinalizing the navmesh fixed this in many cases. An optional file is provided where some of these areas (as I came across them) have the navmesh adjusted to enable followers to enter. This optional mod file is not required for the dog. This optional mod file will likely be incompatible with any other mods that edit the original navmesh in these same areas, or need the original navmesh to be there, resulting in CTDs.  Rather than using this optional file, feel free to roleplay that the dog is just not that bright and doors confuse them.
