About this mod

First attempt at a mod. Adds Teleportation Scrolls to Riq's inventory aboard Rocio's ship to provide basis for alt-start mod.

Permissions and credits
My first attempt at modding. Gotta start somewhere, but not sure how well this works...constructive feedback welcome.

Rationale
I wanted to play an alterative start mod where I could roleplay as just another traveller in Enderal. The main story is quite heavy and it has taken me some time to revisit the game since I last completed it. I wanted a chance to roleplay and complete the other quests the game had to offer without the main quest nagging me. I always felt a bit remiss chasing minor bounties when the fate of the world was at stake. Who knows, maybe the world would be a better place if I just became a cabbage farmer...

VERY simple yet lore-friendly concept.

Location: Rocio's ship
Riq, the older of the two sailors to discover the stowaway protagonist (the one with rather too much familiarity with "Vatyr's balls"...) is a well-travelled and experienced man. Something of a rogue, he has acquired many things in his travels and has learnt the importance of a quick getaway in times of need. He is also something of a collector. Consequently, he has acquired and keeps on his person at all times one of each of the teleportation scrolls available in the game.

This mod adds the following scrolls to Riq's inventory:
  • Teleport: Kurmai's Cave
  • Teleport: Ark
  • Teleport: Duneville
  • Teleport: Fogville
  • Teleport: Frostcliff Tavern
  • Teleport: Northwind Camp
  • Teleport: Riverville
  • Teleport: Unknown Place
  • Teleport: Farmers Coast
  • Teleport: Border of the Heartlands
  • Teleport: Northern Heartlands
  • Teleport: Sun Temple

Once defeated in a the brief brawl, loot Riq's body to find the scrolls. You can then use the teleportation scrolls to escape the ship (sorry, Sirius, but yes, I DO need them all) and start a new life in Enderal. I've found the best time to teleport is after Sirius tells you to find rope, but before actually finding said rope.

Minor problems:
  • Because you don't get caught by Rocio and consequently thrown overboard, you never receive the meditation ability and so cannot access a skill tree without using console commands. There may be another way around this, I haven't tested extensively.
  • After giving Riq and Sibald a good duffing, you can choose to loot Riq's body or not and continue the game as normal, however, if you teleport from the ship before the arrival of the veiled woman, it is likely that you will not be able to start the main quest unless you are somehow able to get to Finn and Carbos' camp.
  • Unlike Skyrim, Enderal's levelling is regional with enemy varieties appearing quite realistically in their respective habitats. Entering a high level habitat at a low level in an already challenging game may prove to be...testing.
