About this mod

This adds Forgable versions of all un-enchanted circlets with +2 to base armor rating (armor you make always being better). The recipes to create these at the forge, and improve them at the armor bench are included. There are five additional circlets of rarer materials with higher armor ratings and values corresponding to what goes into them.

This mod adds Forgable versions of all the un-enchanted circlets with +2 to the base armor rating, in keeping with armor you make your self always being better by about that much.  The recipes to create these at the forge, and to improve them at the armor workbench are included.  There are also five additional circlets of rarer materials with higher armor ratings and values corresponding to what goes into them.  I tried to keep everything balanced.

(I have added an optional version with heavy versions of the non-vanilla and Rune Emerald circlets, including recipes to forge them, and temper them.  It is safe to update to that, but not necessary unless you want the heavy circlets.)

I created this out of frustration that I could not forge my own circlets to enchant, and the ones I could find or buy un-enchanted always had a lower armor rating than enchanted ones.

I have balanced the materials needed to create the circlets with their value (with a small profit margin, but you won't get rich making these) using the Enderal material values.  This results in the values of the circlets differing from the base ones of the same appearance.  If you have a mod that changes the values of the materials, that will of course throw off the results.

Yes, Steel is used in all of the recipes (they list the armor material as steel for them in the base game, so I went with that).  This isn't just jewelry, but armor as well.

No, I didn't bother with needing blueprints.  The values of the materials and access to them should restrict people from building these too early, and I am not going to mess with distributing blueprints in the world and to vendors.

Yes, these have a higher armor rating then the corresponding un-enchanted circlets you can find or buy, but that is entirely in keeping with armor you create always having a higher armor rating, and value in Enderal then the base version.

Tempering recipes are included for all circlets that can be made with this mod.

These are all light armor.  For the additional stronger armor circlets, given that some of the corresponding armors are heavy, I have adjusted the armor rating to reflect more the expense/rarity of the materials, rather then the armor rating of the corresponding sets of armor of those materials.  There is no way a circlet is giving you the same protection as a heavy closed helm.

These all use the vanilla circlet models.  Yes, I know they are ugly, there are other mods for that.  Feel free to substitute in custom meshes/textures for the vanilla ones.  By using the vanilla ones, I ensure that any replacers will replace the meshes/textures in this mod as well.  I know, the Shadowsteel circlet is not dark like it should be.  There isn't a dark-metal vanilla model to use.  (If you know of one hiding in the files, please point me to it.)

If you have some unique circlet meshes/textures you want to use for the special circlets, feel free to edit this mod for your own use, just don't post it without permission please.

I renamed my Forged version of the Jade Circlets to Rune, because it just makes more sense for armor in Enderal.  This does not affect the Jade circlets you find in the world.

This mod does not touch the vanilla circlets, so mods that alter them should be unaffected.

Updates:

1.1
The optional version 1.1 is the same as the original version, but with the addition of heavy armor versions of the Starling, Silversteel, Shadowsteel, Aeterna Emerald, Aeterna Ruby, and Rune Emerald circlets, including recipes to forge them, and temper them.  All stats and the materials to make them are the same as before, this is just by request for those that spec into heavy armor, I know circlets don't make a lot of sense as heavy armor, but people should enjoy their games.  If you don't like that, use the original one.  No need to update if you don't want to be able to make the heavy versions.  As I added only, and did not alter anything existing in the mod, changing to this version shouldn't harm any of the circlets you have already made.  I am keeping the .esp file name the same for those that want to update to this from the original version.  Cleaned with EnderalEdit 4.0.3.

The screenshots:

I tried to make them fairly self-explanatory.  I have one showing the materials required for each of the 15 circlets.  For upgrading, I did not show all of them, but most of the ones I did not show require steel to upgrade.  The Forged versions of the base circlets all require steel to upgrade, except the Rune ones, which need malachite.  The five circlets with higher armor ratings all need their corresponding material to upgrade.  I was going to arrange them all neatly on a table to display them, but the physics engine was against me, and I gave up in the end.  I was lucky to get most them onto the table.  The armor ratings shown in the screenshots, are, of course, what my character would get from them given her current stats and effects.  I do have a list of the base armor ratings of all of the circlets in the mod if anyone really needs that.

Installation:

It is a very simple mod, just use an installer, or drop it in your Data folder and activate it.  It shouldn't be picky about load order.

This mod does have Enderal Forgotten Stories as a master, so it will not work on the old version of Enderal without removing that master requirement.

Uninstallation:
It is never a good idea to uninstall a mod mid-playthrough, but I don't see what harm it could do, in this case, other then all circlets you may have created with it vanishing.

I recommend using this with 'Circlet Enabled Headwear', if you want to wear these with hoods, etc.

Suggestions are always welcome, but don't hold your breath for me to do anything about them.  Fundamentally, I made this for myself, and I will only be implementing additions/changes that are things I would want in my own game, and won't take me forever to figure out how to do.  Please do tell me if anything is misspelled, or otherwise not working.
