About this mod

This base is designed to place in moderately deep water to allow for safely harvesting water resources below the surface. It also works equally well as a tower outpost where you want to project your presence.

Life here is better, down where it's wetter, under the sea!

So many reasons why I made this base. Primarily it was to have a dedicated space where I could harvest water resources (water, oxygen, hydrogen), but I also like the idea of being able to go to the bottom of deeper water. The problem with deep water is that ships float and it takes a while to get there, so why not take advantage of the elevators? Deep water can also be pretty dark and spooky, so this base also lights it up and lets you observe from behind some safe glass panels.

If you want to use Steam to install this mod, you can find it here.
Features:

• Sleek, double-arch design
• Access from three levels (pictures show sea-level entry, waterline entry, and airborne entry)
• Windowed elevators to view your decent into the abyss
• Four cannon turrets for basic protection (two aim up, two aim down)
• A large room for safely placing your water collection devices (you might have to get rid of a floor block to place the first one, then just attach the rest to it and put the block back to seal the room again)
• Basic construction amenities
• A side effect of being underwater is that the base is basically indestructible (nothing critical is above the waterline) so you can hide out here in times of need - now if only we could make elevators that work with vessels, we could protect them too!
• Water not included

Requirements:

Silicon: 1627 (I know its a lot, but such is the price of a view)
Stone Dust: 1266
Iron: 384
Copper: 184
Plastic: 1

Notes:

• Placement can be a bit tricky as you can't see the seafloor and the surface at the same time (unless you play with a buddy and use teamwork) so I find that its best to first make sure that the seafloor is relatively flat first then go above the water and find a place where the right amount sticks out of the water for your pleasure. If you place it like I have in the pics, you can use a hover vessel on the lower dock. You can also probably find some water deep enough to get a hover vessel to the top level too.
• As I mentioned in the features, the easiest way to get the water generators to work is to just take out a block, place the generator (maybe with a <page up> to get it a bit higher) then replace the block. You can also place it so there is a little layer of soil just above the ground then place them normally. If you have to dig out the bottom level, you might not be able to place them as the game tends to consider drilled out areas under the water to be dry.
