Vanilla Elex looks really dark and bland with an overly strong HDR effect that makes the world difficult to look at and differenciate everything Don´t get me wrong - it totally fits the hardcore RPG theme of the game, but lacks the "wow" factor that games like Gothic III had back in it´s time
This preset contains:
Contrast, brightness and saturation adjustments
Eye adaptation effect for the darker scenes in the game
Antialsing for rough edges
Bloom for brighter lights
Depth of field effect (ultra version)
The .ini is also modified for:
Custom fog (performance and ultra)
Greater level of detail in further distances (ultra version)
Better resolution and range of projected shadows (ultra version)
INSTALLATION
1.This preset is meant to be used along "Darker Nights and Brighter Interiors (Old Weather System)" Mod by harryagamez Since it removes big part of the exaggerated HDR effect while keeping the shadows - https://www.nexusmods.com/elex/mods/55 - If you prefer the 1.0.29 weather system this preset can be perfectly used and tweaked to your liking, totally up to you! -
2. Install ReShade latest version (4.9.1) - Download here (See fast guide below if it´s your first time) 2.0 Open ReShade setup 2.1 Browse ELEX.exe 2.2 Click "Direct3D 9/10/11" 2.3 Click twice "uncheck all" and press "ok" to make sure there is no effect missing 2.4 Close after it´s complete
3. Copy "BeautyPreset.zip" inside your ELEX folder, then extract and overwrite all files when asked
4. Done!
- 1050TI or higher is highly recommended for the ultra version -
