About this mod

Great runes make you unkillable and unflinching in every possible way, and more.

Changelogs
With a great rune equipped and activated you will become a true Elden Lord:
  • Invulnerable to all forms of damage.
  • Immune to status effects of any kind.
  • Immune to normal fall damage.
  • Immune to instant-death from extreme falls.
  • Unbreakable poise, withstand any attack or trap in the game without falling, being interrupted, or even flinching.
  • Instant healing factor that activates if you lose health for any reason (certain spirit summons or spells for example)
  • Never run out of stamina when attacking or blocking.
  • Never run out of FP when casting spells, skills or using any item.
  • Never lose runes upon death.
  • Prevent undead enemies from resurrecting.
  • Attacks can't be repelled by shields or stone enemies. (new: v1.2)
  • Invulnerable spirit summons (exclusive to Mohg's Great Rune)

Details and Notes:

Invulnerability:
Take no damage, this works on almost all forms of damage from enemies, traps or the environment. Stand in lava, sit in a fire, afk in a boss fight...

Note: There is only one type of damage I have found that will affect you and that is bloodflame hp drain effect some enemies in Caelid can inflict you with if they set you on fire. That won't be able to kill you though because of your healing factor (more on that below).

Status Effects:
Become immune to all status effects, poison, rot, blight... etc

Fall damage:
Take no fall damage when jumping from any height, this also works when falling from extreme heights (instant-death distance).
This works both on foot and on horseback.

Note: There are only two cases you might die from a fall that this mod doesn't change:
(1) kill boxes, these are invisible barriers put by devs in spots you're not meant to jump through and are scripted to kill you if you fall through them, you'll die mid-air not after landing, I find these to be much rarer in Elden ring as opposed to Dark Souls. If a jump looks like it'll take you to an inaccessible location or to a different map it'll probably kill you.
(2) if you fall for too long the game is scripted to kill you, this is only the case really if you fall through the map because of a glitch.

Poise:
Weather you are attacking, moving, or standing still, virtually nothing in this game will be able to push you, interrupt you, or stagger you in any way. This works for for environmental traps as well, giant balls and chariots for example.

Note: This will not prevent you from being grabbed by enemy grab attacks such as the Abductor Virgins' grab.

Note: I have found only one trap in the game so far that breaks my poise, and that is the fire breathing imp traps you find in several catacombs. If I wear armor with high poise the fire breath always drops me flat on my ass, strangely though if I wear armor with very low poise (<10) or strip naked I can stand up to the fire breath for as long as I wanted. This isn't intended but a bug I'm trying to solve.

Note: Doesn't work while on horseback (although I can make it work)

HP regen:
In the unlikely scenario that you lose some HP, a secondary effect will be triggered and immediately start healing you back up to full health. Once you're back to 100% the effect will then be turned off until you lose HP again... etc.

Stamina consumption:
Attacks of any kind will not consume any stamina, this goes for skills & spells as well. In addition blocking with any weapon or shield will also not consume any stamina, regardless of the shield's guard boost.

Note: Sprinting, rolling, and jumping while in combat will still consume stamina.

FP consumption:
Nothing you do will ever consume FP, this goes for spells, skills, and summoning and special items.

Rune recovery:
As long as a great rune is active, if you die you will not lose your runes, they will still be on you when you revive, you don't need to do anything to recover them.

Undead enemies:
If you kill an undead enemy with any weapon\spell it will not resurrect back to life. (doesn't apply if something\one else kills them)

PVE Invasions:
Be careful because Great Rune effects are temporarily disabled whenever you invade, this actually applies to NPC invasions as well when playing offline not just PVP, so if you're doing a quest that requires you to invade an npc to kill it, you'll become a regular mortal again until you return. (Basically if your character is all red, you can die!)

Spirit Summons:
Normally this mod will not affect any of your spirit summons, even Mimic Tear because it doesn't copy your equipped Great rune. If you want your spirit summons to also be invulnerable then activate Mohg's Great Rune. With Mohg's great rune equipped and active any spirit your summon will have most of the perks previously mentioned (Invulnerability, Immunity, Unbreakable poise... etc)

Mimic Tear:
The Mimic Tear boss doesn't mimic your equipped great rune, meaning that while you will be invulnerable, it will not.

Original great rune effect:
For the most part I didn't remove the original effect of each great rune, so Godrick's great rune will still increase all attributes by 5. Radahn's Great Rune will increase HP, FP & Stamina by 15% and Morgott's Great Rune will increase your HP by 25%. The only ones I changed were Mohg's and Malenia's.

UI:
If you want to confirm that all mod effects are working appropriately, once you activate a great rune look below your stamina bar and a few new icons should appear. An HP icon means HP regen will activate if you lose health. An armor buff icon means your invulnerability and immunity is in effect. A poise buff icon means you have unbreakable poise. A cat icon means you're immune to death. And a twig icon means you won't lose your runes upon death. These are same icons used by other talismans, specifically: Blessed Dew Talisman, Defense Talismans, Bull-Goat's Talisman, Longtail Cat Talisman, and Sacrificial Twig.

Mod options:
If you don't want all great runes to be like this I've made a few options you can choose from. Godrick only, Mohg only, or Malenia only.

Install:
Copy regulation.bin file into you Elden Ring's 'Game' folder. It should replace the exisiting file. (Make sure to back that up first ofc)

Uninstall:
Restore backed up regulation.bin.

But Why?
I understand this mod is busted, and I wholeheartedly do not recommend anyone play this game for the first time with this mod.
But then why did I make it? The answer simply: it's a lot of fun!
After playing Dark souls 3 a few times I ended up experimenting with making mods and eventually made a mod somewhat similar to this, I then played the game a few more times with it and it was very enjoyable. I tried to explore unreachable locations, took funny screenshots in dangerous places and with bosses, tested weapons and builds...
