Permissions and credits
Installation

This dll mod can be used directly or with a separate launcher or loader.

In all cases, SpellRandomizer.dll and SpellRandomizer_config.ini must be in the same directory.

SpellRandomizer_log.txt will be created when the game starts up and the dll is attached, including error messages if something didn't work.

With ModEngine

This mod can be added to external_dlls section of the Mod Engine toml config under the [modengine] header, and can work alongside most other dlls or Mod Engine mods.

external_dlls = ["path\\to\\SpellRandomizer.dll"]

With Elden Mod Loader

Elden Mod Loader is a way to activate multiple dll mods when the game launches. Install it by placing its dinput8.dll in the game directory and bypassing EAC.

Create the "ELDEN RING\Game\mods" directory if it does not exist already, and copy both SpellRandomizer.dll and SpellRandomizer_config.ini into the mods directory.

Standalone

This mod can be renamed to dinput8.dll and placed in the game directory while bypassing EAC.

Usage

See SpellRandomizer_config.ini for directions. Most options can be changed while the game is still running, unless otherwise indicated.

Any range of spells can be equipped, including base game and DLC spells, excluding known invalid spells and weapon-buffing spells. Avoid manually equipping any spells, as they may be overwritten and/or shifted around in messed up ways.
