- Applies the effect of the Deflecting Hardtear to the player character (and NPC player characters).
- Removes the duration/rest at grace limits of the effect.
- Removes the buff icon indicator and the character's buff visual effect.
- The Deflecting Hardtear itself is now useless. You still can get the item and use it, but it will do nothing.
Basically, the mod changes deflecting to be just another game mechanic that is always active.
And that's all it does, none of that fancy Sekiro stuff the other trillion deflect mods already do, just use those if that's what you are looking for.
Installation:
- Download and install Mod Engine 2.
- Unzip and drop the regulation.bin file inside the "mod" folder of Mod Engine 2.
- Run launchmod_eldenring.bat from Mod Engine 2 to play.
Compatibility with other mods:
This mod is compatible with most other mods out there. The mod changes/adds the following param rows:
- The SpEffect ID [9] (spEffectID9) field of all rows in RoleParam.

Merging with other mods:
If the other mod does not have a regulation file:
- Install the regulation file of Permanent Deflect Tear as normal.
If the other mod has a regulation file:
- Install the other mod with Mod Engine 2.
- Download Smithbox and run it.
- Click File at the top menu and then New Project.
- Click on the "Create Project" tab, write anything for the "Project Name", select the "mod" folder inside Mod Engine 2 for "Project Directory", select eldenring.exe inside the Game folder for "Game Executable" and then click create.
- Click Param Editor at the top menu tabs.
- Click SpEffectParam once in the left column, then click Data at the top menu -> Import CSV -> From File... -> All fields.
- Open the SpEffectParam.csv file.
- Click RoleParam once in the left column, then click Data at the top menu -> Import CSV -> From File... -> Specific Field -> spEffectID9.
- Open the RoleParam.csv file.
- Click File at the top menu and then Save All Modified Params.
