    Hi there, everyone!

First of all, thanks for your passionate support to this project! It has been amazing to see you all sharing screenshots, experiences and opinions all around the internet. I've learnt a lot from these interactions and I'm hoping to further improve the overall quality and user experience of my mods.

I'm currently working on a wide variety of new modding projects for different games, but I never drop post-release support for any of my works and I'm always looking for ways to improve them to their maximum. I've already taken this path for my already published projects, like Ludite 5 for Dark Souls 3, which got the "Cycles" update just a few weeks ago, and Ludite 4 FFXIV, which is getting a huge update in just two months.

While further developing Volition in the near future is not viable, as I'm currently busy with a few big modding projects, I'm looking forward to further improve Volition sometime around next year with new features and improvements.

I've already planned a few features, but I thought it would be interesting to listen closely to your ideas and suggestions for the next update:

What would you like to see in the next patch? A warm color filter? HDR support? UI fixes for your resolution?
Comment to this post with your ideas, I'll keep them under consideration for the next patch!

We'll see each other again soon! I'll release a quick hotfix on September (2022) to fix a few minor glitches, rework the mod documentation, update the mod gallery and add the video showcase.

    Cheers!

      • Release an "Admin App" of SIA2 so other modders can also build installers with it.
(NOTES: The workload is too high, and coding applications is not actually my main field, I'm focused on modding).
      • Port the application to SIA2 Framework.
(NOTES: SIA has been discontinued due to framework limitations. I'm now working on a new framework called EBONY).

Estimated Time of Arrival for this update: 2024 (to be decided).

Please, beware the update is currently planned, but it's not being developed yet as I'm currently focused on a big Skyrim modding project and a video game development. I'll come back to Volition when I find the time to do so. Hopefully soon!

Thanks for your continuous support, understanding and patience!

      Cheers!

Viability study for SIA2 is finished, I've decided to rework the application.

An admin tool is now under consideration: I may work on an actual "public" version of my framework so other modders can also use it to make installers for their mods.

This mod is great, works well on 1.10. But have noticed in snow areas specific ways you look or turn. There are like big smudge balls, at first I thought it was just my eyes but if I go to grace, forge of the giants and just start spinning slowly they are really bad their. I dont have those smudge balls with normal Elden Ring. Wondering if thats something I can remove, I have tried changing graphic settings already. Only other mods I have installed are the fps unlock and skiptheintro, it just puts a black img over white and skips logo makes it load super fast. Takes about 8 sec full closed even counting the shaders loading. I wish 60 fps or lower didnt bother me as much because this shaders with ray tracing is so good looking. Way better then Standard Elden Ring Rt imo.

Yet another hotfix to try and fix the issue regarding UIDetect compiling. Kind of a tricky bug to solve as I cannot replicate the thing on my system. Hopefully this hotfix will solve it for everyone though. Just remember you need to play on either 1920x1080p or 2560x1440p for this UI Fix to work.

    Hi there, everyone!

Eden VOLITION is finally out, it includes a ton of bug fixes and changes to the main mod look and feel. Most of your requests and concerns for this mod were also addressed. Hopefully this should be a far more stable and enjoyable update for this mod.

Here is the full changelog for VOLITION patch 2.0.0:

    • Brings colors and saturation back, while still removing undesired volumetric effects.
    • Tweaked depth effects related to the green tint removal effect.
    • The green tint removal now also nullifies other undesired effects.
    • Colors were dispatched under different channels and then remixed together on the depth buffer.
    • This made possible independent channel tweaking.
    • Green channel saturation/vibrancy has been powered.
    • Green channel saturation/vibrancy of volumetric effects has been lowered.
    • Tweaked different channels to get a closer look to vanilla colors.
    • The mod is now more noticeable when it needs to be, and less when the game already looks fine.
    • The mod now looks far more realistic overall.
    • Implemented different post-processing filters to produce an overall more realistic image.
    • Implemented a new (experimental) exponential and automatic depth of field effect.
    • Tweaked the ray tracing effects so it behaves in a more logical way.
    • Ray Tracing is now calculated through Glamarye's shader, instead of McFly's.
    • It's now possible to install a version of the mod without ray tracing for performance purposes.
    • Non-intrusive vignette nullifier, compatible with online play.
    • Removes the vignette effect without breaking online multiplayer.
    • Performance improvement (kind of).
    • The overall performance of the mod has been improved.
    • New performance heavy installation options have been added.
    • Certain combinations of installation modules can end up being actually heavier to run.
    • Implemented UI Fixes.
    • Implemented UI Fixes for 1920p x 1080p resolution.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 7.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 6.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 5.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 4.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 3.
    • Implemented UI Fixes for 2560p x 1440p resolution.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 7.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 6.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 5.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 4.
    • Fixed 7 UI interfaces for Brightness 3.
    • The mod has been rebranded to "Eden VOLITION" on patch 2.0, as part of the relaunch process.
    • Installer updated from SL to SAI (a new iteration of the application).
    • The installer now supports installation modules.
    • 3 Different brightness settings.
    • 3 Different contrast settings.
    • Color filters (faded, vivid).
    • The amount of available filters on 2.0.0 is limited.
    • New filters may be added on future updates.
    • Ray Tracing settings (on, off).
    • Texture sharpening settings (on/off)
    • (EXPERIMENTAL) Automatic Depth of Field.
    • Installer performance improved.
    • The code behind of the installer was remade from scratch.
    • The code is now easier to handle from a programmer perspective.
    • The code is now much more efficient and easier to run.
    • Installer size optimization.
    • On this new iteration of my framework (SAI), mods are treated independently.
    • Volition files are now clearly separated from other projects, so files don't get mixed.
    • Previews are now packed on FHD instead of 4K so they aren't as heavy to store.
    • There are now more previews on the installer due to modules, this could increase its size.
    • The mod now has a local database.
    • Mod files are now embedded on the executable, they are not on the Cloud anymore.
    • The mod DB is not on GDrive anymore, so chinese users can download the mod.
    • App security improvements.
    • The mod is distributed as just one executable instead of a folder of files.

    Hi there, everyone!

It looks like things have finally stabilized and the mod is pretty much working for most of you now. Now that I'm finally over with the usual post-release bug fixing measures, I can start focusing on adding new features to the preset.

I'm already working on a big update for the mod introducing a bunch of new exciting features, but that will take a bit longer to go public. On the meantime, here is a cool minor update with a bunch of interesting changes.

Here is the full changelog for patch 1.2.0:

    • Color adjustments on all resolutions: the mod is now slightly more vivid on its default preset. More will come in the future.
    • Improved the overall look and feel of the MXAO shader.
    • Minor anti-aliasing tweaks on all resolutions.
    • Minor brightness/contrast tweaks on all resolutions.
    • Internal changes for future updates.

Here is the full changelog for patch 1.1.2:

    • Brightness/contrast improvements on all QHD and 4K presets.
    • Internal changes for future updates.

Hi again! It's me! Seifu! :')

Hotfix 1.1.1 is now online. This is a minor patch to correct some of the minor issues you had with the rushed patch 1.1.0. The maintenance was a bit longer than I expected since I got jumpscared by some of you diving into the (not protected at all) source code of my application, lol. There were a bunch of residual code from the Patreon variant of the launcher that should be only accessible by Patreon supporters, so I had to take a look into that, hehe. Sorry for the maintenance delay.

Here is the full changelog for patch 1.1.1:

    • Bug fixed: 4K resolution option now works properly (previously it got stuck at 70%).
    • Bug fixed: the map view fix wouldn't  be applied to QHDUW resolution option. Now it does.
    • Removed a bunch of residual data from the installer, more changes may come in the future.

    Hi there, everybody.

I'm aware some of you experienced some issues with the mod. Most of them were the result of playing in a lower resolution than the one it was designed for. I've been listening to your comments and an update with several fixes and new features has arrived.

Here is the full changelog for patch 1.1.0:

    • Implemented new installation modules to the installment process.
    • Eden LIT installer now supports resolution options.
    • Addressed anti-aliasing (jaggies) issues on Full-HD resolutions.
    • Addressed lighting issues on Full-HD resolutions.
    • The preset should now look more even to the video showcase on Full-HD resolutions.
    • Implemented support for more resolutions.
    • Ray traced shadows are no longer visible through the map view (fixed map view) on supported resolutions.
    • Implemented anti-crash measures on Eden LIT installer.
    • The installer will now ensure all dependencies are setup properly to avoid further conflicts and issues.

I'm sorry about the accidental release, hopefully this patch will provide a more stable foundation to build in. I'be been working restlessly to bring it to you as soon as possible since I considered the antialiasing and map issues "high priority".

Have a good night everybody and thanks for the overwhelming reception of this mod.

Patch 1.1.0 was quite a big one and its development was rushed, hotfixes might be necessary on the upcoming hours. Please let me know if you encounter any bug or issue.

Also don't hesitate in asking for official support for your display resolution, if it's not already supported by this iteration of Eden LIT. I'll make sure to implement it on the next update.

      Cheers!

I still find some shadow bleedthrough and weird ambient occlusion artifacts after latest changes (4k res). Does the latest installed replace all files or is there an uninstall process that needs to take place first?

      Hi there, drktrts!

I don't have access to a 4K monitor so I had to work on hypothetical data to make the fix, so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work. Could you send me a screenshot of your fullscreen map menu in-game? Mod turned off, just the vanilla game map. This way I'll be able to work on a proper fix with actually accurate data.

      Cheers!

      Hi there, danict90!

No, this mod won't fix 21:9 aspect ratio, you have to use a different application for that, it's called "Flawless Widescreen". My mod does support ultrawide resolutions though if you are using Flawless Widescreen.

If you are playing on ultrawide without fixes, make sure to execute the game on 2560x1440p, and not in 3440x1440 with black bars, the reason being Direct X's depth buffer breaks if you are playing on 3440x1440p without Flawless Widescreen fix and creates odd shadow issues.

      Cheers!
