About this mod

Cosmetic mod that gives the Okina mask a shiny new helmet, changes the color palette to mostly red white and gold, and makes both gauntlets metallic.

Permissions and credits
Modifies the three pieces of the White Reed set and the Okina Mask. Install like any other armor replacer, I use Metis Mod launcher for this. You can get it from this same site.

Changelist:

-Recolors all pieces to use mostly white, red and gold for a more unified color palette. The undershirt is also less discolored.
-Replaces the hair with a custom white and gold samurai helmet, colors the mask red, darkens the eye and mouth holes and thickens the moustache and eyebrows. There's an optional download available that only recolors the mask without replacing the hair.
-Replaces the cloth sleeve on the right hand with another metal gauntlet. There's now an optional download that only changes the textures, keeping the cloth sleeve. It only includes the files for the gloves.

If you want to keep using the vanilla version of a certain piece, just go into the "parts" folder of my mod and delete the corresponding file: AM for the gauntlets, BD for the armor, LG for the legs or HD for the helmet.

The original color palette was all over the place: white, orange, purple, yellow/gold, blue, and not a hint of red. On the armor of a blood obsessed serial killer, wielding a red sword called "rivers of blood", in service of the lord of blood, said to have turned into a mythological devil who embodies fire and violence. No red. And what little orange was there was all faded. So I changed the palette to all warm colors: red cloth, white metal with some gold for the details.

The fancy new helmet detracts a little from the murderhobo theme that Okina seems to have going on, but I also shaped the helmet to be like Matarajin's hat, who is represented by the okina mask, so I think it comes out about even for nerd points. And if you squint your eyes the side decorations look like rabbit ears, so boom, now it's also related to the white hare of Inaba, and to Okina's followers. And for what it's worth, the original armor was already really fancy, with all its impeccable white plate and shiny golden decorations.

My biggest issue with the unmodded mask was you see your character from behind 99% of the time, so all you see is a bunch of white low-poly matted hair which looks awful and there's like a dozen other helmets that already do that anyway. And from behind, all the shiny white metal that you see was contained only in the body armor, so the full set doesn't look particularly cohesive. For this same reason I put a copy of the left gauntlet on the right hand, so you can see some more metal from behind. Also, it was really easy to tell that the player had their entire face wrapped like a mummy underneath the mask, so I made it a little darker.
