About this mod

This Spirit Summon mod is similar to any Spirit Summon mod that you can find on Nexus. However, I have made three versions of the same boss summon. The first set includes boss BGM, boss health bar, death banner, phase 1 and phase 2 boss all packed into one summon. the second set is the same excluding boss BGM, the third is the basic boss summon.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod is a boss Spirit Summon mod, what this mod differs from most Spirit Summon mods is that for each summon excluding the third set of summons is the following: Boss health bar, Death banners, Boss BGM (one set of summons only) phase 1 and 2 of bosses (excluding the third set).

For example, Malenia will start off as Blade of Miquella (Phase 1), at 50% she will transition (albeit terribly) to the Goddess of Rot and utilise all of her phase 2 attacks besides the illusion attacks (which has been replaced by the unused waterfowl attack). If you use the BGM version she will start off with the phase 1 boss BGM and at 50% the BGM will transition to the phase 2 (heatup) BGM.

As stated in the brief overview there are three sets of summons that you can get, the first set will have the Boss BGM, boss health bar, death banner, phase 1 and phase 2. The second set will include everything from the first set except Boss BGM. The last set will be the basic summon that you can make with your eyes closed.

Requirements
mod engine 2 (for any type of modding for Elden Ring)
Releases ยท soulsmods/ModEngine2 (github.com)

A copy of Elden Ring on Steam (maybe works for cracked version, I don't know)

Installation
get the mod folder and get the mod engine 2 from github and place them into a singular folder preferably outside the game folder (name it whatever you want). place them both in there and play using the launchmod_eldenring.bat.

Where to get the summon items
Firstly make sure you get the spirit summoning bell from Ranni, I typically would first get the church of Elleh Grace and the Gatefront grace to talk to Melina agree to the thing she wants whatever that was, then teleport to the church and talk to her get the thing.

Next you would need to get to the Roundtable Hold, either you beat Margit, or you get three graces in Limgrave and ride your way to Liurnia by taking the broken bridge route or go to Caelid, you might as well fight the Mariner cause half of the summons are sold by D, the Dead hunter (first sets and some third sets), Rogier (the remaining third sets) and the other half primarily second set summons from the twin maiden Husks.

The first set is marked by (BGM)

The second set is marked with [NOBGM]

and lastly the third set is marked by [Regular]

What bosses are included
  • Malenia - Blade of Miquella/Goddess of Rot
  • Radagon of the Golden Order
  • Starscourge Radahn (a little buggy especially transitioning from meteor)
  • Mohg, Lord of Blood
  • Maliketh - Beast clergyman/The Black Blade
  • Dragonlord Placidusax
  • Lichdragon Fortissax
  • Morgott, Omen King
  • Godrick, the Grafted
  • Godfrey, the first Elden Lord
  • Hoarah Loux
  • Rennala phase 2 only
  • Rykard - God devouring snake/Lord of Blasphemy
  • Elden Beast
  • Fire Giant (Probably phase 2 works, never got his health down to half to test)

Q and A stuff
- why make three versions?

Because when making this I have found some infuriating things that had to do with the Boss BGM. Firstly, using the boss bgm removes the enemy's boss health bar and boss bgm, which would be fine for the BGM but it removed the boss health bar as well which would be a turn off for everyone. Secondly it prevents you from opening the map even when the summon disappears, the BGM remains and you must quit out of the game to remove it, this obviously infuriates me again. Lastly it persists when the summon disappears, dies and is removed via sending it back, which yet again forces you to quit the game to remove.

The second set was made so that people won't have to go through that.

- Why make the third version everyone can make?

Because the events I made to make all this boss health bar, death banner, phase changes and boss bgm can be inconsistent, I have yet to perfect it so that it is always consistent. If you are frustrated with the first two sets then use the third set so that you can play the game as usual.

- Why make this thing at all?

I don't know, I was making a different mod entirely unrelated to spirit summons and got a whiff of trying out creating events and now I spent time away from that mod to make this thing.

-Why not make phase 1 and phase 2 Godfrey
because he uses two different chr models and different Anims so I can't merge them into one summon, you're lucky to get beast clergyman and maliketh into one summon. maybe I will find a work around, maybe.

-Why is the summon boss health bar so much higher on the screen than the boss health bar?
That is because to account for double boss fights, though I might make the change to have the double boss health bar be moved to the higher part of the screen and move the summon health bar down.

-Can this mod be used with other mods such as moveset mods?
yes though you need to add an "AddSpEffect" to the player anibnd, specifically the spirit summon animation (a000_050240 and a000_050241) with
21200002.

-Why does Radahn not have a third set?
That is because I have not edited his AI to prevent him from jumping up into the sky, he does not come down from the sky and is constantly waiting for an animation that is forced via Emevd. I will edit it eventually to stop him from doing that or edit it in a way to include his meteor attack.

-Will I make more summons?
probably

Things to note
When you are ready to fast travel de-summon your summon by using your summon item again. otherwise you might still get the boss health bar.

When a boss's music and health bar doesn't disappear, de-summon the summon and use a different summon which should remove the boss bgm, typically I use the Malenia (with BGM) because it is the only summon that remains the most consistent.

De-summoning whilst in a boss fight will deactivate their boss health bar too. So don't do that, summon dying will also do that.

if a summon automatically dies when summoning, use the item again to "de-activate" the summon and allow you to summon someone different. This usually happens when the kill section of the event activates too quickly or the initialising section of the event doesn't trigger. Like I said, it isn't perfect.

Like I stated previously do not use the bgm version for the boss fight, it will remove everything except your summon health bar and summon bgm.

If none of the first two sets work then use the third set or delete my mod and get another summoning mod.

Where to ask questions not answered by Q and A and Things to note?

You can just post the question here on Nexus, though I rarely come on here anymore and it is my first mod that I am uploading so in that cases you can just go to an Elden Ring modding server called "?ServerName?".

Please don't personally DM me on discord about a question regarding the mod, if you're having problems others are as well. just ping me on that server in one channel (either installation-help or elden-ring-modding channels), don't post the same question on multiple channels, it annoys people and annoys me too.

If you don't have discord just post the question here.

Have fun with the mod, or if you're not having fun then the only thing to do is delete the mod and move on.
