About this mod

Adds the Monk's Naginata weapon as a new item (wielded by the True Monk in Sekiro), which includes a unique 2H moveset and ash of war. You can also opt for just replacing the cross-naginata's model with this one without moveset changes.

Working in Elden Ring 1.10. Included in Ab Aeterno's Moveset Pack.

Adds the Monk's Naginata weapon as a new item, which includes a unique 2H moveset and ash of war. You can purchase it from Kale for 3000 runes (it has the cross-naginata icon). 1H moveset is the same as the cross-naginata. Internal weapon ID is 16115000.

It's rather experimental and some animations don't blend too well between each other but I figured I'd share it anyway.

Ash of War: True Monk's Grace
Same as spinning strikes, but with different R1 and R2 follow-ups.

Special Attack: L1 + R1
You can perform a backwards double spin by pressing R1 while guarding. The first few frames of this attack count as i-frames, allowing you to quickly disengage from a fight.

Special Attack: L1 + R2
Performs a triple spin attack, which heavily damages enemy posture.

Version 1.1b: new backstep and idle animations
Experimental version where I added the Corrupted Monk's idle and backstep animations to the 2H moveset. The transitions between idle and the default 2H animations aren't that great, so I've left this as a separate download option.


Installation:
  • You will need ModEngine2, you can find releases & installation instructions here: https://github.com/soulsmods/ModEngine2
  • Download the mod. You can then either extract the 'monk_naginata' folder's contents into ModEngine2's mod folder, or add the 'monk_naginata' folder itself and link to it in ModEngine2's "config_eldenring.toml" file.

For modding (moveset version):
  • TAEs: added a237.tae and a684.tae (version with idle/backstep anims also includes a96.tae)
  • HKX: a237 and a684 files found in c0000_a6x.anibnd.dcx (version with idle/backstep anims also include a096 files)
  • HKS: uses ivi's c0000.hks script, with a few additions. Looking for the word "Monk's" should land you through all the changes in the file. Also contains changes in the "GetAttackMaxNumber" function to allow the R1 combo to have 5 total animations.
  • Parts: adds a new weapon model 8010
  • Edited CSVs: AtkParam_Pc, BehaviorParam_PC, EquipParamWeapon, ShopLineupParam, SpEffectParam, SwordArtsParam
