About this mod

Randomizer options and presets to be used with a custom 'regulation.bin' file for a fun and challenging run. More enemy health, more runes, resistances reworked, more weapon damage, and more enemies with the included randomizer preset.

Changelogs
This is not so much a mod, but a customized 'regulation.bin' file I edited to be used with the 'Elden Ring Item and Enemy Randomizer' created by thefifthmatt.

I've included my Randomizer presets so you can try for a similar experience as mine, which I found to be a lot of fun, a challenge, and a bit transformative to how to approach the game.

Anyway, here are the changes made to 'regulation.bin' file:

  • Enemy HP - x 2.5. i.e. 100 hp enemy is now a 250 hp enemy
  • Stronger weapons, magic, incantations, and projectiles - x 2. I did this by adjusting the base damage of every weapon, projectile, and offensive sorcery and incantation to double it's original value. The scaling has remained the same, but the end result is a stronger weapon because the scaling now applies to a higher starting base damage. Ash of War damage included in the adjustment.
  • Enemies can now damage each other. This does not mean they aggro one another, but any errant hits meant for the player, that land on another enemy damage them. Fighting large mobs can now be manageable, and dare I say fun.
  • Rune acquisition - x 5. i.e. any enemy that gave 100 runes, now gives 500 on death. I did this to offset the disappointment when using the randomizer, finish fighting a regular enemy that got randomized into a boss, and getting 20 runes at the end of the fight. Now obviously x 5 is a lot so levelling will be much faster. I use the randomizer options below to offset this from the game becoming too easy.
  • All enemies can now have every status effect applied to the them (except Death Blight for non-humans). No more stupid resistances, use any playstyle you like. All enemies initial resistance has been set to 252, and resistance correction parameters to X001, which has scaling of: 1st proc +28, 2nd proc + 70, 3rd proc + 168, 4th proc + 458. Which with a base of 252 goes: 252; 280; 350; 518; 976. (I think that's how it works, I believe it stacks to last value + next value, rather than original value + next proc value; but I haven't tested this so I may be wrong).
  • Boss (Arena) Runes - x 3. The way Elden Ring rewards boss runes, is that they're not associated with the boss (i.e. Margit), they're tied to the boss arena (i.e. Stormveil Castle arena). So any arena where you would defeat a Major Boss now gives you runes x 3. i.e. 12000 runes for Margit arena now gives 36000 for whatever boss replaces him using the randomizer.
  • Consumable item acquisition - x 5. No one wants to run around farming items for consumables in Elden Ring, so every consumable, non-essential item is now 5 times more. i.e. 10 mushrooms from Boc is now 50 mushrooms.

Recommended Randomizer settings:
These are just what I tested these changes with, but they were really fun and worked great so I'm including. It's not a requirement by any means, so feel free
to use whatever settings you like.

  • The important ones to make the new 'regulation.bin' file function as I intended are under the 'Enemy Randomizer' tab.

To use:

Download:
  • regulation.bin
  • Randomizerx2.randomizeopt
  • Randomizerx2.txt

Copy:
  • regulation.bin to "[wherever you saved your randomizer]\randomizer\diste\Vanilla" Whenever you run a new randomizer seed the program pulls the 'regulation.bin' from here and uses that to randomize things. Before you copy I'd suggest creating a backup of the original by simply renaming it to 'regulation.bin.bak'. That way you always have a copy and can switch back and forth as you like

Save:
2. Randomizerx2.randomizeopt anywhere you like, but I keep mine in the root 'randomizer' folder. To use simply open the EldenRingRandomizer.exe and go to 'Options' > 'Import Options File...' > select 'Randomizerx2.randomizeopt' from wherever you just saved it.
3. Randomizerx2.txt goes into "[...\randomizer\presets". Once you've saved it in there, you can use it from the 'Enemy Randomizer' tab. Check the 'Custom enemy placement' box. Click 'Edit custom enemy placement...", then select it from the 'Preset:' dropdown box.
