The Moxie Gameplay Mod

This mod rebalances and reworks existing game systems in Elden Ring in order to maximize player build choice. Moxie is compatible with all existing save files, however, it works best when starting a new playthrough since many changes focus on improving the early game experience.

Moxie currently includes the following:

Core Mechanics Changes:
  • Adds very slow passive HP regen to facilitate exploration while keeping combat dangerous.
  • Adds moderate passive FP regen over time to enable weapon art builds and pure caster builds. FP regeneration scales with your max FP.
  • Flask of Cerulean Tears reworked to provide an adrenaline boost effect for a short duration. Enables aggressive playstyles.
  • Flask of Wondrous Physick has 3 charges, and Crystal Tear effects are rebalanced with this in mind.

Improved Progression:
  • Smithing stones are available at merchants around the world based on their region. This makes purchased stones available much sooner, although prices at these shops are higher than at other locations.
  • Weapon upgrades always use the same number of smithing stones for each weapon level, and any smithing stones you don't need can be traded to merchants for different smithing stones or other items (sell values of smithing stones greatly increased).
  • Increased base Item Discovery to 200, effectively doubling the item drop chance for all enemies.
  • Consumable rune items give double the runes.

Item Crafting Overhaul:
A large number of changes have been made to item crafting to make it much more accessible and desirable.
  • Many craftable items have been improved or reworked to make them actually useful.
  • Crafting ingredients have been made much more plentiful, with each ingredient having a designated enemy type that drops it at a high or guaranteed rate.
  • Recipe books for elemental damage have been moved to make them available in the early game.
  • Doubled the number of obtainable Cracked Pots.

Combat Balance Changes:
  • Improved the Poison status effect: On enemies it deals continuous posture damage over time to open them up to critical hits; on players it continuously saps your stamina during combat.
  • Weapon Greases and spell buffs can be used on all weapons and last longer.
  • Increased projectile speed and increased the damage of bows and crossbows to make them viable as main weapons.
  • Improvements to underperforming sorceries and incantations including all gravity spells and flame spells. Elden Stars is actually good now.
  • Various minor changes to make items and spells scale better into the mid and lategame.

Merchants:

  • A few merchants in Limgrave and the Roundtable Hold have items in stock to help you quickly get started with any character type.

Lategame Enemy Scaling:
  • This mod includes adjustments to lategame enemy damage and HP values, courtesy of the Dunkey Late Game Fix Mod! These changes smooth out the difficulty curve of the last sections of the game.
