Summary:
In the vanilla game, the "Stab" perk is nearly useless. Every time you use it,
you lose a knife and it's not much faster than regular takedown, plus
if you decide to throw a knife into the enemy after takedown, it also
consumes it. It turns out you lose two knives when you should lose only
one.
This mod fixes this oversight (IMO). Now you won't lose a knife on the takedown, you will lose it only on a throw. It also makes the
"Stab" faster and removes the unnecessary need to press the execution
key, because it's senseless (why would you choose the longer takedown
when an upgraded one no more consumes your resources?).
All of that now really makes the "Stab" a valuable skill.
Of course, the "Stab" will only work if you have at least one knife.
The mod comes in two versions:
Main - everything I described
Cut - everything is vanilla, no faster animation and you must press the
execution key, except you won't lose a knife on the takedown.
USE ONLY ONE VERSION.
Installation:
Extract the data3.pak into \Dying Light 2\ph\source\
If you already have a data3.pak in there, rename this .pak to data4.pak or
a number one higher than the lowest one used, up to data7.pak. If all
those numbers are already taken, use 7-ZIP to merge your mods.
- The mod modifies the sync_actions_takedown.def file. Any other mods that modify the same file will cause a conflict and won't work.
