Tired of feeling like you are in a Hollywood directed horror? Here you go.
If you don't know what sound I am talking about... I uploaded it here on youtube for your convenience so you can hear the sound file that it removes aka ambience_slums_global_night_loop
Ever since I started playing this game, the background ambient sound (like high pitched organ noise going in and out) annoyed the crap out of me. Made the game feel less immersive.
I searched and searched how to disable it and found none. So had to figure it out. Here is the solution.
(all the files needed and a readme is included in my mod download - under the files tab above)
Option 1:
You can use my pre-made Data3.pak (btw PAK files are just ZIP files renamed to PAK) and copy it into your Dying light DW folder...
Example:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light\DW
Option 2:
You can use my pre-made hdr_snd_groups.csr file and insert into your existing Data3.pak file (you have to rename it to Data3.zip first and then rename it back when you are done).
hdr_snd_groups.csr should be placed in the folder "data/scripts/audio" inside the Data3.zip archive.
Make sure you rename the Data3.zip back to Data3.pak after editing.
You're done... now enjoy no stupid eerie annoying sound and be immersed in this game finally!!!
