All base character race ships are given a dedicated power plant slot in addition to their other racial component slots.

What does this mod do?

When a player creates a new character, they can choose from a variety of races, with different racial component slots. What this mod does is add an additional powerplant-only slot to the racial component slots of every race (specifically, races without a Heavy racial slot such as Cortex receive a Powerplant slot, while races that already use a Heavy racial slot receive a Power Collector and Power Boost slot). The race that normally had only an additional powerplant slot, the Fringe, are given an additional power boost and EM-weapon racial slot to compensate.

Why create this mod?

For me, one of the most frustrating gating mechanisms in Drox Operative is the maximum power load limitation. Because the amount of max power load given by power plants is so variable, it can limit what items you can equip for an extended period of time. By adding in the additional slot, you can easily provide additional power load without eating up a lot of your other equipment slots, giving you more tactical flexibility on smaller hulls.

How do I install this?

To install this mod, place the downloaded file (allclasspowerplant.zip) directly in the Assets folder within the Drox Operative directory (on a Mac, this is most likely under Applications, on a PC, this is most likely under Program Files (x86)). To install the add-on file for the Scavenger class in the Invasion of the Ancients, place that file (scavpowerplant.zip) within the Expansions/Exp1/Assets directory within the Drox Operative folder.

Note: Do not expand or unzip the archive - simply place it in the appropriate directory. The game will look inside the zip file and process the enclosed mod when the game is opened.

Versions

0.2 - Appearances can be deceiving. Upon further testing, it appears that the racial equip slots are not dynamically defined, but are fixed slot types (1 each heavy/medium/light). To compensate for this, player race ships already assigned a racial heavy slot get a slot for a solar array and a tesla coil. Fringe ships get EMP and tesla coil slots. Known Issues: the text on the solar array slot is cryptic, but the actual functionality works as it should.
