One of the main problems with DD2 is the enemies are atrociously slow and their decision making on when to attack with their limited movesets is really spaced out. I can't alter the actual decision making (yet, been looking into the AI params though) but applying a base speed up to all enemies makes the game a little more engaging.
You can specify speed per enemy or apply a global speed to every enemy easily. The speed returns to 1x when executing a finishing move on the enemy to prevent animation desyncs. You can also apply speed rates to the player now
