Description

Another entry to the Modified series, this time employing model swapping. In short, I replaced the Hellfire chest piece with the Divine surcoat, with the greaves and gauntlets replaced by the respective Shadow pieces. Hellfire helmet has been replaced with a modified Immortal helmet. The mod will affect both the male and female versions. I'd like to dub this set, The Demon Set (very creative, I know)

In detail, the modifications are :

Hellfire armor : Model swapped into a Divine surcoat, colored it black as the base, with a blood red cross. Modified the 'halo' on the cross to look like two pair of horns (referencing Daimon's horns). Front flap is cut short, while the back is given a 'tattered' appearance alongside giving it a split in the middle.

Hellfire greaves and gauntlets : Nothing too fancy, model swapped into Shadow greaves and gauntlets, and then made them noticeably darker in tone.

Hellfire helmet : Model swapped into Immortal Helmet. Made it darker in tone, removed the horns, and removed two out of three cloth flaps on the back. Also added a 'glowing red eye' effect on the right (the character's right) eye slit.

The files were packaged with modular installation in mind, so that you can install any piece that you like (e.g just the chest piece) while leaving the other pieces unchanged.

Install Instruction

1. Download the archive, and unpack it,
2. Open the 'Modified Hellfire Set' folder. Inside will be four folders, named 'Arms', 'Chest', 'Head', and 'Legs'. Copy the 'nativePC' folder inside the folder of the piece you want to replace into your main game folder, where 'DDDA.exe' is located. Each piece will ask you to replace two files, say yes to replacing both of them.

That's it.

Uninstall Instruction

1. Same as above, but copy the 'nativePC' folder that is inside the 'Original files' folder instead. This will completely revert every piece into their vanilla version.

Recommended Clothing/Accessory Pieces

Used in the male screenshots : Doublet, Denim hosen, Nomad's cloak.
Used in the female screenshots : Silver chestplate, Delta guard, Blasphemer's cloak.

Recommended Accessory : Monomi neck wrap, Ebon neck wrap, Nebula cape.

I haven't tested it with everything, so let me know in the comments if you find anything else that fits, and I may add it here.

Known Issue

Due to how model swapping work, and how the game stores temporary data, you could run into some issue with the Divine surcoat. Suppose you were to have both a Divine surcoat and my modded Hellfire chest armor in your inventory. There are two possible issues that could happen when you enter the equipment screen :

1. If your cursor hovers over the divine surcoat first, then the modded hellfire armour will also take on the appearance of the vanilla divine surcoat, minus the golden belt.
2. If your cursor hovers over the modded hellfire amour first, then the divine surcoat will also take on the appearance of the black and red modded hellfire armour.

To fix this, simply unequip the armor, then exit and reenter the equipment screen. Sometimes, you may need to unpause the game to let the game 'unequip' the armor from your character before the change could happen. To circumvent this issue entirely, avoid having both the Divine surcoat and the modded hellfire armour in your inventory, say by giving one of them to your pawn. The same goes for the modded hellfire greaves/gauntlets with the shadow greaves/gauntlets.

The same issue could also happen if you have both armours in your storage, and you change equipments through an innkeeper or other NPCs that handle storing your items.

While it is not very likely that one should happen into these situations during normal gameplay, and they are quite easy to fix, it's still good to keep these issues in mind.

Recommended Mods

Immortal Vanguard's Helmet by Shio. While this isn't a model swap of the Hellfire helmet, it does match the colour scheme of the new surcoat, and an excellent mod all around. Immortal's helmet is still the third best Red helmet in the game, and with a regeneration enchantment to boot. I highly recommend this if you want a substitute for the Hellfire helmet. Only available for males, unfortunately.
