Latest release : Counter+Enchant . A compilation of my mod for Magick Shield Skill

Permissions and credits
Instead of separate mods for each skill I'll put all of my Magick shield Mod in here
I made and test my mods on steam latest version of the game, without any kind of modification, for any other version or with mods other than mines, it may or may not work.

August 19 2020: Counter + Enchant

Description: Change Magick Shield Element Counter skill as follow:
With an enchanted Magick shield ( by any Counter/Riposte/Feint skill ) whenever you successfully perform a perfect block, automatically cast respective element enchant ( Enchanter/Trance/Invocation) without any stamina cost or casting animation.

  • Counter and enchant value are the same vanilla game.
  • Enchant spell remain the same. I might change them to something else later.
  • While its work to save a skill slot, keep in mind that you have to perform a perfect block to trigger the effect, other than that its overall a huge buff for the Magick shield.
Install instruction : same as other stuffs Backup,Download, extract and replace bld.arc  (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\wp\w2) and bld00.arc,bld01.arc,bld02.arc,bld03.arc,bld04.arc,bld11.arc, bld14.arc (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\sk\s2\ ).
July 26 2020
: Holy Furor EX

Change to Holy Furor as follow:
Remove Stamina Exhaust at the end of the spell.

Basic Tie
r: Slight reduce duration, Add Healing effect (Its like Anodyne, healing effect also linger for a while after the spell ended).

High Tier
: Slight reduce duration, Add Cleansing effect (Clear all Debils).

Grand Tier
: Slight reduce duration, Add Haste effect ( Increase most/all of player animation's speed by 30%, pawns by 40%) multiply effect does not stack, haste effect need to end before new one can be applied.

: Its highly unlikely but haste effect can cause crashing when very specific situation happen, its best to save frequently (as always) feel free to report if you encounter problem, even if I can't fix it, its good to know.
Each spell Tier only carry 1 additional effect, for example Grand Tier won't heal or clear debils, its intentional this way to make the player choose which to cast instead of having it all.

Install instruction
: just like the other stuff : Backup,Download, extract and replace bld.arc  (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\wp\w2) and bld11.arc, bld14.arc (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\sk\s2\ ).

July 22 2020: MK Dash

Change Holy Aid/Holy Grace into the following :
Perform a quick dash at the direction the player is guarding, release the spell at the right timing to trigger an attack effect, if you do not release at the right timing the attack effect won't happen and it won't cost you stamina, the dash will still working normally either way. High Tier dealing more hit with the attack effect. Damage is equivalent to Blessed Riposte projectile with limit hit.
Note: Release the spell will dispel Magick shield enchancement (Counter spell), this is likely due to the spell originally a Shield Enchance spell, if you only do the dash it won't cause this.
due to the nature of the guarding action the player tend to face attacking monster may cause this skill to dash toward enemies unless another directional button is held. It may take some practice to get used to it.
The camera moving around is annoying but I don't know how to deal with it.

    and bld11.arc, bld14.arc (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\sk\s2\ ).

July 15 2020 : Abyssal Anguish EX

Description :
Change Abyssal Anguish into the following:

Imbue the user's main weapon with Ice and Thunder Magick.

Basic Tier: Generate an Ice Spike and 3 random Lighting bolts everytime you do certain heavy attack or skill (same condition as vanilla). Damage is equivalent to Frost and Thunder Riposte. Slight reduce spell's duration (compare to vanilla).

High Tier:
Extend the duration, increase the size of the Ice Spike, add additional random Lightning bolts, add additional Lighting bolts that target enemies. Damage is equivalent to Frost and Thunder Riposte but with more strikes.

I have fixed most of the problem but its best to save frequently.
I have consider lower the flashy effect from lightning and tremor effect from Ice spike to make it less 'flashy', but I'm not sure how to do it yet.

Any feedback/question/discussion is welcome, but I may or may not be able to Fix/change the mod (due to technical limitation, logical
limitation,....) .    

  • Make a backup of your bld.arc  ( in DDDA\nativePC\rom\wp\w2
    ) and bld11.arc  (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\sk\s2\ ) as
    obviously it will overwrite if you have any other mod that change these files  .
  • Download, extract and replace bld.arc  (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\wp\w2)
    and bld11.arc (in DDDA\nativePC\rom\sk\s2\ ).  
Note: If you ran into problem and forgot to make backup, you can download the vanilla files in Miscellaneous
