Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition

Please see the original bug reports page here: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonquestxi/mods/88?tab=bugs

MOST issues can be resolved by CAREFULLY reading the description:

1. Don't use this mod on a pirated copy, it probably won't work (i.e. the addresses are different), and no, I can't fix it as I develop and test on a legal, vanilla copy of the game

2. "If I change outfits at the beginning of the game, it doesn't show" -> The mod only works on the DEFAULT outfits for each character, so say, if Luminary isn't wearing his purple tunic, it won't change his appearance. You'll need to get further into the game (see link above for more details on these occurances).

3. Thanks for playing with this mod! Please don't hesistate to submit a bug report (I just don't like having to address the same issue over and over, hence 1&2).

That's not true, mods work even for cracked versions as I've modded tons of games before and I know it works. My only problem is that the COSTUME mods apparently do not work for Dragon Quest XI S Echoes Of An Elusive Age Definitive Edition as I've tried, and they simply would not activate in the game once I try to equip the costume, they're not OVERWRITING how they're supposed to. As a result the costume mod fails to work, and the character still looks the same. Example: Trying to replace Erik with another character skin like Kiryl from Dragon Quest Heroes 2, which is supposed to replace The Corsair costume, but it doesn't change anything once I select the costume for Erik.

SOME mods will work on a cracked version, such as *most* pak file mods, with some exceptions.

However, this mod uses Cheat Engine and requires certain memory address offsets to be correct (identical to the official copy of the game).

A 'cracked' copy of a game will have DIFFERENT address offsets. This means that any Cheat Table made with the official copy, will NOT work as the memory address offsets do not align.

i.e. I'm trying to manipulate a pointer at 0x10008925 and instead of pointing to the String value I want it to (in order to change the game's costume reference), the cracked copy has it pointing to some random memory address. This will either cause it to not work at all and show an error (the best case scenario), or it will 'try' to work and crash the game because it manipulated the wrong data.

This absolutely sucks, yeah there's officially nothing else I can do. It doesn't want to work, it's impossible.
