This is a backport of 4k 60fps Prerendered Cutscenes for the original (OG) version. This mod replaces the prerendered cutscenes occasionally shown in-game with higher-quality versions upscaled & interpolated using RIFE and Artemis. See the linked page for more details.
Installation instructions
1. Install 4k 60fps Prerendered Cutscenes by following the directions on the Definitive Edition (DE) page -- download version 0.0.5
2. When finished, you should have new files in the following directories:
(You can remove the "pakchunk" .pak file as that's not needed for the OG version- keeping it won't hurt anything but OG uses a separate one)
3. Download and unzip the files from this original (OG) version page
4. Copy the .pak file located in the zip into <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Content\Paks
(where <steamapps> is typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ depending on your installation )
5. Copy rename-cutscene-files.bat located in the zip into <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Content\Movies
(where <steamapps> is typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ depending on your installation )
6. Double-click rename-cutscene-files.bat. If all goes well, it should create a backup copy of the original cutscene files (as "*.usm.bak") as well as rename the copied cutscene files from the Definitive Edition (DE) version to match OG's naming.
(alternatively: you could also go and simply rename these files from the folders above yourself, but the script has been added to make this easier)
7. Enjoy
