For international (non-Japanese) players of Dragon Quest X: this mod aims to greatly reduce the amount of time required to get the game setup on first installation as well as updates/reinstalls.
When following the installation guide over at DQXAbbey, you will eventually come across Step 4. This requires your game client to download approx 20 GB of files from a server in Japan, which is heavily throttled. This can take upwards of 12 hours (and even quite a bit longer if there's an interruption in the connection between you and Japan, as it will corrupt part of the download and force you to redownload the whole thing)
This mod will allow you to bypass a lot of this by caching the update files locally.
Installation Instructions:
1. Extract the files with 7zip
2. Copy the "Game\" directory to "<installation_path>\SquareEnix\DRAGON QUEST X\" and overwrite the existing "Game\" directory there.
(Where <installation_path> is typically "C:\Program Files (x86)\" depending on your settings)
3. Restart the launcher
