I realize this thread has been stagnant for a bit but I just started playing the game about a month ago. I'm on my third character and I have completed the game but I am so very tired of waiting for random schematics to drop . My issue is that I can't get this save to work for me. I (believe) that I followed the directions properly; I updated the version to 19 but I can't get the game to recognize the 866 file. Does it have to be renamed? Saved as something else? Any help would be lovely.

So I loaded the game, where I had to go through this door to meet with Solas, I skipped all cutscenes because I haven't gone through them before to avoid spoilers, and after the credits roll, there was nothing to do with the golden nug?

This mod is excellent, though the creator should have explained how it should be applied.

First of all, go to Program Files/Dragon Age Inquisition/Update/Patch and find the package.mft file, open it with Notepad and change game Version to 19. As far as I know, you don't have to change it back afterwards.

Now go to Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age Inquisition/Save and there you should paste the game save which you've downloaded from here. Because this mod is actually a game save.
In-game, open the added game save, click on the Golden Nug and sync everything. Do this with any version of this mod. Now load your own game save and sync what you've acquired by clicking the Golden Nug (either near the Haven stables or in Skyhold Undercroft). Done.
You can delete the game save (mod) because you don't need it anymore.

If you DON'T have the Golden Nug in your game, download the optional file - game save, which is right before the final battle. Note that merely loading this save won't get you the Golden Nug; you actually have to finish the final battle with that character to acquire it. I wonder why the mod creator didn't provide the save AFTER the final battle, because this is just needless busy work. Anyway, after the game ends and the credits roll, go to Skyhold Undercroft and click on the Nug. And there you have it. Now delete this save and do the thing from the previous paragraph.

I hope this helps everyone who had been confused as I have

So.. just so i understood, the main file you download (I have all DLC and extras + deluxe) is a save from after the final battle but it the nug isn't in the place in skyhold.

is it somewhere else or do I have to download the save game from before the final battle, complete it then i get the nug?

Cus, cards on the table, i kinda wanted to try out the OP weapons in my first playthrough (figured this mod was a shortcut for that purpose) and i dont really wanna go through the final battle with possible spoilers

@dmv117 I don't know how you don't have the Nug. Yes, try completing the final battle and then go to Undercroft.

      Another heads-up:
If you wish to get your game version back to vanilla, just do it in package.mft. You'll have to start a new game for it to work normally again, but you'll still have all the goodies from this save - just sync the Nug in the new playthrough. Delete all other saves from the old version.

Thank you for this!! I was able to get the saves into my game and get the nug to work and restore my mod merge patch and all. The ONLY thing, and I am not even sure if it is normal or not, is only the Tresspasser armor schematics for all fighting classes show an armor rating of [0] in the crafting table. And to add on to that, all of the mage armors both non-dlc and dlc say the same thing: Armor Rating [0]. Is this normal? Aren't all of the armors supposed to have ratings?

For those of you who may have had the same question as me, it is normal. Once you start getting more materials to craft the schematics with, the armor ratings populate and do not stay stuck at 0 armor. All clear! Thank you again for this!!

Thank you thank you thank you!! The only schematic I was missing was the Chromatic Greatsword because I can't for the life of me get the timing down in that Qun forsaken mini game.

Legit Origin owner here (Proof: https://puu.sh/zdk7L/27d428441d.jpg)

Golden Nug is also not showing up for me as well. Just putting that out here. Pirated copies seem to have nothing to do with it.

For me it was the same until I checked and I saw that I wasn´t logged into the Dragon Age Keep. As soon as I logged in everything worked just fine.

The version before the final save doesn't work for me because of the update thing, can't edit the mft file because there is no option to open with notepad only to search for an app to open it with -_- the other main file worked but thats' way back at the start of Skyhold...too much work, did the tedious work of schematic collecting once on console never again.

I'm having the same issue, just wondering if you found a fix. I'm playing on a legit GOTY version of the game. The other saves I downloaded work fine, but I can't load the final battle save. It says I require an update, but the GOTY edition is fully patched. Like you, I farmed schematics for DAYS back on console, I have no desire to do so again.

Edit: Figured out how to load the save, still no golden nug however.

Thank you very much for this. I got tired of looking for specific armor upgrade schematics which only drop as random loot, this helped immensely

package.mft won't let me open it. It's an MFT file and doesn't show up in Notepad, nor does it let me open it with anything. I got your file into the game but can't play it due to needing a newer version. But can't make the game a newer version because of stupid package.mft not letting me do anything with it.

I guess I'm just gonna have to get all the DLC schematics all over again legit. ugh.
