FAQ - Please Read Before Posting

    Updated 26th February 2022

Do your mods work with Frosty Mod Manager?

Although my mods were created and designed for DAI Mod Manager, they can all be imported and used by Frosty EXCEPT for the configurable ones. Unfortunately Frosty does not support configurable mods and is unlikely to do so anytime soon.

Mod manager says this mod is not compatible with my patch.

My mods were created with various versions of the modding tools and with various game patches up to and including patch 11 (internal version number 12). If you synchronise your game with Origin you will not get this error message. The game is pretty cheap now so please consider buying it.

I'm getting infinite loading on returning to Skyhold/fast travelling.

This is a known issue with some texture/mesh replacer mods. None of my mods fall into that category. The usual culprits are companion mods/cosmetic changes or texture replacers. The only way to track the issue is to remove those mods and add them back in individually. Check the comments section on all mods before you download them.

Do your mods work with Trespasser/JoH/The Descent/Black Emporium?

As far as I can tell all of my mods work in all of the DLC apart from the "investigate the bodies" scene in The Descent when all mods have to be disabled. Do that by incrementing the patch number in package.mft by 1 (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch) then downgrading it again when you're past that scene. All hex edit mods, as opposed to texture and mesh replacer mods, will work fine in the DLC. The other option is to use Frosty and import your Daimods or use both mod managers. You can find tutorials for this on the DAI Modding Discord.

    Do you take requests?

Usually no, I don't have the time, but if it's an addition or a natural extension to one of my existing mods then I'll consider it.

I'm getting a error message from Mod Manager - something about zlib/mscorlib/blah blah

There are many things that can cause Mod Manager to crash and refuse to build a patch for you. Sometimes just reinstalling it can fix the problem. Sometimes you're trying to install an old mod that's not compatible with the latest game patch. Check out the troubleshooting guides on the DAI Modding Discord.

I'm still having problems getting your mod to work.

You can post a comment here, but I have made a lot of mods and don't always have the time to provide support. First try this troubleshooting guide DAI Modder Central on tumblr. If that doesn't solve your problem, then try the DAI Modding Discord server: https://discord.gg/wzJG7Mq

For Redcliffe Crafting Supply and Redcliffe Supply DLC Edition there are three optional versions. Choose and install ONE version only from each mod:

    • Normal prices - The shop will sell at the vanilla rate (100%) and buy from you at the vanilla rate (15%).
    • Discount prices - The shop will sell at 25% of the usual rate (vanilla 100%) and buy from you at 25% (vanilla 15%). Weighted in your favour compared to vanilla, but not exploitable. This is particularly good for the Trespasser weapons in the DLC edition if you want the challenge of saving up for them but not getting ripped off.
    • Free/Zero prices - The shop will sell to you for nothing and buy from you at 250%. Exploitable for lots of gold. (But be careful or you will break the game with your excessive riches that it was never designed to accommodate.)

I downloaded mods correctly and never had issues before..
but this mod when i did everything as intended it didn't appear in the dai mod manager
weird part i thought the issue was from the folder or something conflicting with it but when i switched to a new folder and tried checking if the mod appears it doesn't appear at all, its like the file isn't being read by dai mod manager

Well I tried everything to get this to work with Frosty, but nothing I did worked, no materials show up at the vendor. Tried changing load order, uninstalling other mods, I even re-installed the game from scratch with only this mod installed and nothing else. Nothing worked.

Given that More Fade Touched Materials mod also doesn't seem to work for me I guess I'll just have to give up and accept that I'll have to spend hours and hours farming for fade touched materials like the game wanted me to.

If you are using the EA launcher and not Origin, even if it is being launched through Steam, you need to use Frostyfix now or mods won't show up.  Or just use the old Mod Manager since both mods you mention don't need Frosty.

Thanks. I did actually try using Datepath fix but not Frosty Fix, as I was given to understand that Frosty Fix was obsolete.

That said I've tried quite a few different things since posting above, and have now actually managed to get mods working after a lot of research and trial and error, including DAI Mods such as More Fade Touched, so it might be worth me having another shot at getting this working.

Is there any way to add Tier 2 crafting materials to this mod as well? Or if someone knows a mod that would allow me to add such a vendor to the game, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Just thought I'd drop a tip for anyone else who may have been struggling with what I was for most of a morning.

If you want to install this (or indeed any mod) with Frosty and you bought the Game of the Year version on Steam like I did, you're still gonna want to go into Tools -> Options -> Launch Options and set it to launch the EA desktop app, otherwise your mods aren't gonna load properly.

Once I figured that out, it worked a treat! Cuts down on the tedious grinding. Endorsed!

For anyone having issues with the gamepass/ea desktop version of the game. go into tools on frosty, then launch options, turn on platform launch then select EA desktop

It works with Frosty.  Most of my mods do. Just read the sticky post.  No need to shout.

Adding this mod and the Crossroad Merchant mod does seem to remove the option to but the Antivan Fire Grenade from the Crossroads Merchant - did you by chance know which other file this now located in as I cannot seem to obtain this without removing the mod, purchasing recipe and then reinstalling the mod? Would this be with a different merchant file in your collection?
Thank you, and enjoying your modding works.

If you didn't acquire something before installing the mod, you can uninstall and reinstall the mod at any time in order to buy some of the original items. It's not like a Bethesda game where changing mods mid-playthrough will break things.

This mod saved me. I had the bug where the requisition in the exalted plains for orlesian culture would repeat itself. Unfortunately all the freemen had stopped to drop ancient writings for some reason. I got the crestwood store and bought them from there and finally finished everything in the plains.

    Many thanks!

The shop for requisition items is a brilliant idea! thank you!
It works perfect (is the Crestwood village shop, not the castle one) and it sells infinite MALACHITE! and DECORATIVE GEMS! (those damn items always run short even for just 1 requisition during the whole game lol) this only needs sad splinters to be ultra perfect.. still, awesome work, mods like this make the game so much complete and enjoyable ^^
