the question is WHY frosty... i struggled with it for hours and got nowhere because of the stupid EA app and DAI mod manager fixed everything in a heartbeat. frosty is just terrible honestly
Because a lot of the newer mods are Frosty only unfortunately. Most DAI mods work for Frosty but vice-versa is not the case. There is a fix for the Origin replacement EA app to work with Frosty. You can find it at Github.
#Edit: I managed to get this mod and all other mods to work in Frosty. Method as follows. I'm using EA Desktop client version not the Steam version. 1) Completely uninstall the game 2) Delete all folders pertaining to Dragon Age Inquisition from the game install folder and also the 'My Documents' folder. 3) Re-install the game. 4) Launch the game once, normally, from EA Desktop client 5) Shut the game down. 6) Shut EA Desktop app down 7) Install and launch the latest version of Frosty Mod Manager in Administrator Mode and wait for it to set up and do it's thing. 8) Install the mods you require 9) Shut down Frosty Mod Manager 10) Install the Datepath fix from here: https://github.com/Dyvinia/DatapathFixPlugin 11) Delete the file called 'Launch Platform Plugin' from the Plugins folder in Frosty Mod Manager 12) Delete the folder called 'ModData' from the Dragon Age Inquisition install folder 13) Launch Frosty Mod Manager 14) Wait for it to do it's thing 15) Launch EA Desktop App 16) Launch the game from Frosty Mod Manager Voila!
I tried dozens and dozens of different solutions, and wasted days on getting this thing to work, and above was the only thing that worked for me, and it has to be done in the exact order of the steps above. It's important to launch Mod Manager before launching the EA Desktop App, I have no idea why, and it shouldn't make any difference - yet it does.
First time I did it all my mods worked, but did not work the next day until I deleted the 'ModData' folder once again, but since then it's been working every time.
the datapath fix literally breaks my game. couldnt even launch, even without frosty. had to recheck integrity of files in steam for fix that mess. struggled for HOURS searching solution for frosty to no avail, and switched to DAI mod manager and with 10 seconds all mods work flawlessly. yes, RIGHT IN THE FACE of the EA APP. anyway, dont go for frosty because it is terrible, at least that's my exp. you can save yourself 16 steps and go for the DAI mod manager instead
Great mod, helped me save many hours of farming. If metal is still easy to get, then getting cloth from a certain enemy can be said to be almost impossible. With each new load, the type of enemy may change, and therefore the chances become completely miserable. With this mod it is easier, and through the mod manager you can change the chance, very convenient. The main thing is to find it, because the link to it from the description no longer works, I personally got it from another site
If I set the values just a bit higher I'm swimming in FT stuff and barely get ordinary materials to be work with, so I use the mod accordingly: if I really need some FT material fast I set it high until I have them, otherwise I use it with the basic settings. Thank you for the mod, it's a blessing!
Sorry for asking but how do I configure this mod? Just asking cause there is no explanation on how to do it or what value you should use. Do I actually need to configure the mod?
