Qunari Horn Replacers
WIP. For frosty mod manager. Requires ultra mesh quality settings. A collection of different horn replacements for qunari male and female. I have more planned for this but releasing now to update gradually!
The horns replace the following horn models in CC:
horns 01d and 03d on both qunari male and female models. In other words, these two sets of horns:
FAQ
Q: Why did you replace multiple horns at once instead of just replacing a single horn?
A: I had to replace multiple horns to stop the other horns in-game from using the wrong textures (textures are the images painted onto the horns that give them their colour and finer details.)
Q: Can I install multiple files from this mod at once?
A: No, you should only install one file from this mod at once, because every file on this page replaces the same horn, so they will override one another if you try to use multiple of the files at once.
Q: Why didn't you vary which horns you replaced?
A: If I replaced different horns, there would be a lot more repetition of the same horn in the character creator. Plus there would be less choice since many existing horns would have to be replaced by the same horn design, to avoid texture misalignment. So I replaced the horns that would produce the least copies in the character creator.
Q: Can you make this for only female/male qunari instead of including both in one file?
A: No, because for example, if I replaced only female horns, this would misalign the textures on the male horns because of the shared images/textures, and vice versa. So I have to replace both male and female qunari horns in one file to avoid this.
Conflicts
Will conflict with any mods that edit the models or textures of horns 01d and 03d (they use the 01d horn textures.) You also can only install one version of this mod at a time since all files replace the same horns.
Mods reccomended for use alongside this one
the DAI Qunari Horns Frosty Texture Glitch Fixes file from the DAI Frosty Texture Glitch Fixes mod - this file is found inside the download on the page called "DAI Separate Inquisitor and NPC Frosty Texture Glitch Fixes", extract it and you will have the horn fix which you can install. this can help stop infinite load when using this mod (horn textures don't like being edited and this solves that issue.)
the chargen bundle from optional files of this mod - this is an alternate fix for the infinite load from editing horn textures. you don't need 2 fix mods for this installed at once, choose either the chargen bundle mod or the frosty texture glitch mod. IF USING THE HERMES OR HADES HORNS YOU NEED THIS FILE SPECIFICALLY, the horns in those files won't show up without this particular file.
enhanced character creation - if you are using some of the ear options and don't want the horn stumps to be included, you can play with the "scalp shape" slider of this mod, which should remove horn stumps on some slots. you can also use it to combine the horns with any hairstyle you want!
