Josephine Wears A Dress as Formalwear

A mod to make Josie wear either her regular dress as her formalwear, or the trespasser wedding dress. This is a bundle edit.

If frosty won't let you import the mod, make sure you have frosty 1.0.6 or above (version number should be in top left corner of frosty mod manager), if it still doesn't let you apply it, it could be that you've placed the mod within too many subfolders, so try and move it directly to e.g your desktop and then import it from there.

All of the files here should be compatible with retextures to the clothing and accessories in question (though, if you use one of the harlequin battle mask compatible options, it won't take on the texture of another mask mod because it uses different textures, as to avoid clashing with the harlequin battle mask mod, which it is intended for use with.) Other than that, though, it should.

Some of the files here are compatible with shape edits (aka 3d model or mesh edits), too, but not all.

Edits to the shape of the human female ardent blossom will not take affect on the fitted flower crown versions of this mod since they have a custom fit, but will take affect on the unfitted flower crown versions.

Shape edits to Josephine's regular dress will not take affect on the formalwear version of her dress, shape edits to the human female wedding dress should take affect on the wedding versions of this mod, though.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If Alistair is King in your worldstate (Alistair is King in the default worldstate), please ensure that if you plan to side with the mages, that you if using the regular dress version of the mod, that you install this mod AFTER the "In Hushed Whispers" quest, otherwise Alistair will be wearing the same outfit. I chose to replace his outfit because his appearance is very brief, no one else wears that outfit, and he won't reappear after that, and I needed an outfit with enough materials and an AppearanceMeshSet. Plus I couldn't reference the proper model of Josephine's dress directly since it doesn't like being referenced, so I had to compromise.

You do NOT have to do this if using the wedding dress version as I didn't edit his files for those versions.

PLEASE NOTE: King Alistair will not appear in Cullen's office with this mod, Alistair is only in Cullen's office in these screenshots as I used Kittentails character swaps "KT Alistair to Cullen (King Alistair's outfit)" file so that I didn't have to wait until In Hushed Whispers to screenshot him. So you don't have to worry about King Alistair unexpectedly making an appearance in Cullen's office with noodle arms - and you shouldn't use this mod with that character swaps one anyway because they will conflict.

His limbs are spaghetti cuz Josie's dress uses the HF skeleton, but Alistair uses the HM skeleton. The texture in the screenshots is DaedricSaber1701's "Antivan Princess" texture. :)

Conflicts
Compatible with my Leliana and Vivienne Halamshiral dress mod!

Except that, the main files will conflict with any bundle edits to the winter palace and trespasser areas. Bundle edit mods are usually mods that swap characters, hair, clothing. The main files are compatible with character generation bundle mods, such as Kittentails chargen bundle, so long as you load my mod BELOW that one. Will also conflict with any mods that swap Josie's formalwear or, on the regular dress versions only (not the wedding dress versions), mods that edit King Alistair's outfit. Won't conflict with retextures of the regular formalwear, or Josie's regular dress.

Mask versions will conflict with shape edits to the pictured mask (unless you are using the harlequin battle mask compatible versions.) Fitted flower crown versions will conflict with edits to the Fereldan Scout helmet because it uses those models (though it should work okay with retextures to the Fereldan Scout helmet because the fitted flower crown uses the separate ardent blossom textures anyways.)

  • mesh settings can be any setting for Josie's dress to show, but the modded hair fix file requires ultra mesh settings
  • If frosty won't let you import the mod, make sure you have frosty 1.0.6 or above (version number should be in top left corner of frosty mod manager), if it still doesn't let you apply it, it could be that you've placed the mod within too many subfolders, so try and move it directly to e.g your desktop and then import it from there.
  • make sure you don't have any mod conflicts, i.e mods that edit the same files, including bundle edits to trespasser, the winter palace, or King Alistair's outfit and outfit swaps for Josie's formalwear (Alistair part only applies to the regular dress options of the outfit, not the wedding dress options)
  • if you cannot unzip the .RAR archive file, try extracting it with WinRar which you can get here. go to the section that says "last updated", look for your language, and next to it should be blue download links for either 32 bit or 64 bit version of the program. click on them to start your download. the program may say it is a "free trial", but the "trial" never expires.
  • if using frosty versions, make sure you don't have a Patch_ModManagerMerge folder under your DAI.exe location "Update" folder, for many the directory is C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > Update > Patch_ModManagerMerge. this is the folder generated when merging mods with dai mod manager, delete it if you have it.
  • the above probably works in reverse too, though I haven't tested that theory, but if you are using dai mod manager, ensure you don't have a ModData folder which is generated from merging frosty mods, the directory for this is usually C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > ModData delete it if there is one.
  • if you're using dai mod manager and it doesn't allow you to enable the mod, click on the mod within the mod manager and it will probably say something like "This mod is incompatible with your patch." Look at the number next to where it says "Required Patch" and navigate to C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > Update > Patch, find the package.mft file and edit it with any text editor so that the patch number matches up with the required patch no. of the mod.
  • if you cannot open your saves because they were "created with a higher patch version" or something of the like, the above solution will also help, just keep upping that patch number until it allows you to load your save.
  • if you are using frosty mod manager, you will have 2 package.mft files, one in the aforementioned place, and another under C: > Program Files > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > ModData > Update > Patch. You will want the patch versions of your original patch and your frosty patch to match up.
  • make sure that the origin games folder, origin folder, DAI.exe folder and really any folders associated with DAI are all added as exceptions in your antivirus
  • for frosty make sure you hit "apply mod" after importing the fbmod(s), and always make sure that you hit the "launch" button via FMM every time you want to use frosty mods in DAI
  • for frosty, ensure you are using the latest frosty mod manager
  • if you're using frosty please do NOT load daimod textures through it. frosty has issues loading daimod retextures. instead please look at the tutorial on the second post of this thread by Katarsi. I did not make this tutorial.
