All of a sudden, general attacks are automatically made attack. Cancellation is not possible.

Auto-attack should only occur with middle-mouse, and cancellation is always possible. Check the keybindings and for active software that could interfere, in particular recent changes to the system.

Any idea what the problem is when I keep auto attacking?

Not sure without more information, but the mod depends on precise controls/timing. Verify that you don't have the mouse buttons (or auto-attack key) assigned to other actions/macros and disable mouse/keyboard tools. Also, if the game is under CPU load it can skip inputs and cause problems, which can be fixed by setting a limit within the game or using the FPS Limiter tool from my blog.

I think I'm having the same issue. I can't seem to get my character to stop auto-attacking. The only that works is alt-tabbing out of the game, waiting a couple seconds, then alt-tabbing back in, or going in and out of tactical(preferable to alt-tab for sure).  If I hold the right mouse button for a few seconds, she'll finally sheathe her weapons, but the second I release she starts to auto-attack (at nothing) again. She also starts to auto-attack any time I open a map or talk to someone...stuff like that. I suspect it may be an issue with another mod so my next task will be figuring that out.  I thought I'd post just for information =)

Is it possible to change the "left SHIFT" key to something else? You just thought about right-handers... Even though I'm right-handed, in games with this type of movement, I use the mouse with my left hand and the keyboard with my right hand

Making adjustable key-bindings would make the mod more complex and increase the chance of problems as well as incorrect usage (you can see people complaining in the comments even without those complications). It is possible to do that in a generic way with tools like AutoHotKey. It takes some work initially to learn but then you can use it for arbitrary rebinds in any game.

It seems some people report it works and others don't. My suggestion is start with a clean install and add/enable apps until you figure out the cause (usually a 3rd-party overlay); if all else fails try a non-Origin version since it should work with different exe files provided they don't modify the UI.

Forcing a nasty crosshair (is there rly ppl playing melee and need a crosshair?) & hard coded Shift key into mod, makes no sense.

It seems you like to complain without actually testing. The "nasty" crosshair makes sense because the default mode is now the camera-moving mode and in that mode the game doesn't display the visual indicator, so it's a necessity to know where the cursor position is, as well as the implicit target position for actions. Not everyone plays melee-only and even with melee people need to know where the attack will land, so the only thing that doesn't make sense is your post.

You have 2 different keys (right mouse and shift) doing essentially the same thing (bringing back the cursor), I fail to see how that is intuitive

I love this mod, I just wish the left shift key wasn't hardcoded so I could also use the sprint mod. Is there a way to change this myself?

It's possible with some work, for example using AutoHotkey. Making the key editable would be too much trouble (having users edit config files and so on).

Still better than not having the option at all!

Is there a source code available for this mod? Because it doesn't work on the steam deck / linux with steam, as it throws an error about msvcp110.dll even with both overlays disabled

Are you using the latest version? Not sure what the problem is but msvcp110 is only there to load the mod dll, so if you inject the dll some other way that file can be removed. The mod uses proprietary components and is not open-source.

Hello, I know you're retired and all, but anyway I just wanted to know if there's a way to make the crosshair smaller, I play it on a laptop and the crosshair gets quite big in a small screen.

I love the mod so far, it's really annoying not being able to aim at the rift when your mouse is locked to the camera. It is hard to interact with the world without having to unlock the mouse.(I've played warrior throughout the series).

    Thank you.

Crosshair size is fixed, so it gets progressively smaller as you increase the resolution, and there are no plans to update the mod further. You can unbind the cursor from the camera holding the Shift key, to get the normal mouse behavior. Regards.
