This is a color and texture mod of the prologue armor (Mercenary Coat). I've always liked this particular armor; the textures are high quality and it seems to be done very well overall. My own taste is rather minimal, so I don't usually go for the fancier armor retextures; the defaults usually do just fine.
The original armor had two main problems: the textures were too bright, allowing the colors to be washed out, and the scarf had no texture, which made it look like plastic. There were also some tint map issues, leading to some pixelation (hardly noticeable most of the time).
There are two files for this mod.
1 A texture mod that darkens the coat and scarf so the colors are more accurate, as well as adding a slight texture to the scarf so it no longer looks like plastic. I have also fixed the minor tint issues.
2 A few different color options. USE ONLY ONE COLOR AT A TIME.
You may use either OR both of the mods.
* If you liked the default colors, you may use only the texture mod; be aware that the coat will be a darker green and the scarf a darker tan.
* If you don't care about the texture changes, you may use only the color mod; be aware that they will look a bit washed out and lighter than pictured above.
* Use both together for the pictured results.
The texture and color changes affect both genders, all races, and all classes. The texture changes will apply to any armor that uses this same model, such as the Elite Mercenary Coat (rogue only) available later on in the game.
This will also be compatible with mods that replace the Skyhold Attire (PJs) with the Mercenary Coat.
Recoloring this armor is very simple and only requires that I swap out the materials tints in the armor file. For all of the color options, the scarf is Darkened Samite, the coat is Great Bear, and the metal is Obsidian. The variation comes in the colors of the shirt, pictured above. I tried various options for the scarf, but everything other than gray or tan looked like a giant blob of color; it looked quite bad.
