FAQ - Please Read Before Posting

    Updated 26th February 2022

Do your mods work with Frosty Mod Manager?

Although my mods were created and designed for DAI Mod Manager, they can all be imported and used by Frosty EXCEPT for the configurable ones. Unfortunately Frosty does not support configurable mods and is unlikely to do so anytime soon.

Mod manager says this mod is not compatible with my patch.

My mods were created with various versions of the modding tools and with various game patches up to and including patch 11 (internal version number 12). If you synchronise your game with Origin you will not get this error message. The game is pretty cheap now so please consider buying it.

I'm getting infinite loading on returning to Skyhold/fast travelling.

This is a known issue with some texture/mesh replacer mods. None of my mods fall into that category. The usual culprits are companion mods/cosmetic changes or texture replacers. The only way to track the issue is to remove those mods and add them back in individually. Check the comments section on all mods before you download them.

Do your mods work with Trespasser/JoH/The Descent/Black Emporium?

As far as I can tell all of my mods work in all of the DLC apart from the "investigate the bodies" scene in The Descent when all mods have to be disabled. Do that by incrementing the patch number in package.mft by 1 (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch) then downgrading it again when you're past that scene. All hex edit mods, as opposed to texture and mesh replacer mods, will work fine in the DLC. The other option is to use Frosty and import your Daimods or use both mod managers. You can find tutorials for this on the DAI Modding Discord.

    Do you take requests?

Usually no, I don't have the time, but if it's an addition or a natural extension to one of my existing mods then I'll consider it.

I'm getting a error message from Mod Manager - something about zlib/mscorlib/blah blah

There are many things that can cause Mod Manager to crash and refuse to build a patch for you. Sometimes just reinstalling it can fix the problem. Sometimes you're trying to install an old mod that's not compatible with the latest game patch. Check out the troubleshooting guides on the DAI Modding Discord.

I'm still having problems getting your mod to work.

You can post a comment here, but I have made a lot of mods and don't always have the time to provide support. First try this troubleshooting guide DAI Modder Central on tumblr. If that doesn't solve your problem, then try the DAI Modding Discord server: https://discord.gg/wzJG7Mq

This mod works best with the "Walk Softly" trial enabled.

While not built for frosty it should work fine: There will be a config screen when you first import the mod into frosty where you can tweak the vars, and if you wish to do so after the fact you can re-import and re-apply it.

Very good mod that helps me to add difficulties to my modded game : I have so many improvements with mods that make game too easy, even in nightmare and I like to be the big guy (the contrary of the real life where I'm not a hero, such games are here for that after all)

I'm not good at playing games by the book so I need help and I hate reloading game several times to obtain sth, it's anti-immersive for me (breaking ambience), so I need mods to make games fit to my needs
Once that said, I apreciate very much to better control difficulty and this mod is made for that.

I'd like the dragoons to be also buffed, but hey, nothing is perfect. The first time I played with this mod, I was OS at the two first combats and that made me realized what was really important to make my character a true legend, thanks a lot for that ;)

I'm guessing it's not a good idea to use this mod with The Spring in Thedas mod as it changes all the environmental textures. A lot of stuff is slowing down from speech cut scenes to loading.

theres really no good in between from the normal enemies and the "promoted" enemies from the "walk softly" trial enabled.  Putting the spawn rate low kinda works but then its just back to no other enemies being a challenge because I cant turn up the HP as high as I want to.  Its best to just turn that trial off and make the normal enemies way stronger, otherwise the game just gets really boring.

Great mod, I was a bit worried the game would be a cake walk after getting out of the Hinterlands. Without, most enemies were a joke, only had a problem against bosses or when closing the rifts near the farm with lv12 Despair demons. Now they all put up a real fight... most of the time.

    ---

Here's some info for anyone wondering how does the values used by the mod compare to vanilla Nightmare difficulty:

                   Nightmare | Pandemonium
Enemy Health: x1.8 | x2.2 -> Self-explanatory, x2.2 seems good enough so enemies don't just have huge health pools.
    Enemy Damage: x2 | x3.5 -> A bit much early-game, especially when under-leveled. Using x3 for now.
Enemy Promote chance: ?? | 0.6 (60%) -> Only happens with "Walk Softly" enabled afaik. Promoted enemies have better stats and abilities. 30% seems high enough. Having to deal with a group of archers using explosives arrows and leaping shots is the stuff of nightmares for a warrior lol
Enemy Speed factor: 0.4 (+40%) | 0.8 (+80%) -> Only affects enemy movement speed I think, not their attack speed, but it's hard to say
    Enemy Cooldown mod: 0.5 (50%) | 0.25 (75%) -> 75% cooldown reduction seems a bit overkill but whatever xD
Enemy Anticipation: 1.5 | 2.0 -> Enemies dodge, block and get out of your way more often.

      EH: x10
      ED: x4
      EPc: 0.6
      ESf: 0.5
      ECm: 0.25
      EA: 2.0

I use that for the main game, makes encounters really great but i turn this mod off for JAWS OF HAKKON... the DLC is Annoying enough by itself with all the POINTLESS encounters with hakkonites and f***ing POISON SPIDERS who whitout the mod are annoying already...with the mod and absolutelly NO POISON RESIST it becomes a huge headache because most of the encounters you WILL die and when you click continue the enemies will be gone and you are left without the satisfaction of killing them buy changing tactics or whatever...

Trying different settings to make JoH playable, so far lowering the HPs, Promote chances and raising cooldowns seems to make npcs lesshorrible to manage but still haven't run across hakkonites+spiders yet.

the default promote chance is about 15%  FYI. I'm more inclined to say 1/6 or 16.6%.

I havent pulled any data just what it feels like, its definitely not 30% nor 40%; i used the mod with 30% for some time and i had many more tedious battles because enemies took too long to die, now im using the other mod "faster enemies and new abilities" (from heartbreaker mod, nightmare difficulty) WITHOUT any increase to damage or health and the game is pretty hard and challenging.

Also i don't recommend any increase to mob damage because it renders most non tank melee builds useless (my only "good" party was cassandra as tank, 2 mages and my main as archer-tempest), specially REAVER which has a very volatile HITPoint rotation  - any time Bull is not full HP because of his skills, even with top notch gear and defenses, he would die to 1 hit - using just a 2.5 damage value instead of the original 2.0.

For instance, trying Trial of the Fool is literally impossible because of "in your heart shall burn" trebuchet phase, i even had crafted t2 gear and one t3 weapon using a mix of tier 1/2 materials gathered from hinterlands on my whole party and it was just banging my head on a wall, and trust me, i know how to play this game. Later i will try again on level 8, maybe 9 with better jewerly from the "more loot mod", current party is main dagger, 1 mage (2 mages when i want to be OP), archer and tank. Dagger is fun and games but boy it dies so easily with that mod on nightmare.

Does anyone know how to configure the mod so that the enemies are not bullet sponges but the damage is still high?

Basically, I want to make combat fast and deadly.

Change the enemy health multiplier to 1.8 which is the same as vanilla Nightmare mode and just go with the other settings like increased enemy movement speed.  If you want them to have even less health, you can manually edit the mod as mentioned in the description, just don't go too low or you could break stuff.  1.0 is the same health as Normal difficulty if I remember correctly.

Is there a way to go above the 20 limit? Tried modifying the values but it doesn';t seem to work.

Forget it i simply needed to re do the installation.

I like getting absolutely everything and even cheating, but i also like it when my enemy is ridiculously strong.

      Iv'e seen 300k crits, insane.

I've tried setting the multiplier to 180, but it seems it literally does a 180 of what it should do,  and instead the health decreases. maybe after 100, things get wacky.

Use this mod on MINIMUM settings in jaws of hakkon DLC. Unless u have enough money to buy 3 or 4 more keyboards and mouses. Your party AI is garbage put that against immortal hakkonite mages who make your party lose target + 3 or 4 poison spiders (game has no poison resist) and bufffed archers that 1 hit kills any mage or rogue whitout barriers and guess what you have? broken stuff and ridiculous levels of frustration. And since this dlc is s*** anyway you will be getting this fights every 10 meters you walk. Its f***ing broken. The rest of the game was great with this mod really added a challenge but Jaws of Hakkon is broken and just f***ing frustrating i went trought the entire game dying only 4 or 5 times, that was beaten on the first 10 minutes of JoH gameplay. THE WORST PART IS THAT WHEN YOU CONTINUE AFTER DYING THE ENEMIES ARE GONE, SO THAT SENSE OF ACOMPLISHMENT AFTER BEATING A TOUGH ENEMY WHO KICKED YOUR ASS IS COMPLETELY OUT YOU ARE LEFT WITH THE f***ing FRUSTRATION AND 10 to 15min OF YOUR LIFE MADE POINTLESS.

100% agree, playing through Hakkon was aids with this. Main full tier 4 tank, completed BIS gear, would literally get ONE SHOT by a mage or archer.
to make matters worse, the AI for companions is legit legally retarded. I'm fighting the hakkon boss with 2 guards then 4 mages. the 4 mages are literally impossible to kill. they stand afk, then all of a sudden one shot my tank. like 100-0.

this is with BIS gear, potions, etc.

All the DLC's were like that what i recall, tanks dropping instantly at the start of the fight :D i guess its the point of this mod, your tanks arent immortal anymore, the game has soo many tools for managing those fights and this mods makes you use all of them, also you can manually rez your guys basically 24/7, loved this mod, most important mod in my opinion if you are experienced gamer and dont want dull whack a mole combat, still i agree that prolly not good idea to start the game with this mod enabled.

So the one and done punch during the very first fight in the prologue was a bit daunting, but I figured once I got to Haven and could buff us up a bit we'd be okay in the Hinterlands.

I got my ass handed to me on a silver platter in the very first scrap :-D I freaking love this mod <3
