NO WAY!!!!!!! Finally after all these years.. a flycam for DA2! THANK YOU!!! I've been trying for years to find one and it never existed for this game! you rock! :) and it works great!
you camera is GODSEND and in perfect timing. I am working on Fenris blender animation and I needed a way to take clean straight screenshots of environment in DA2 without characters in the frame and couldn't before so this saved me!
This came out shortly after I took a bunch of reference screenshots, in annoyingly ironic timing! So I haven't used it before now.
I just gave it a quick test and I can already tell that my next playthough is going to be 10% playing and 90% trying to get good shots, haha.
Anyway, I see people have commented on it not staying paused- I haven't tried this in different situations but I found that pausing it, bringing up the menu, THEN starting up the flycam lets you exit the menu and the game remains paused. I don't know why or if all those steps are necessary but it worked out for me and I'll try it more when I next play.
Thanks a lot for this! Looking forward to seeing what I can do with it.
I ain't done either. did you know that the background mountains seen from lowtown are using pixelated google maps pictures for the lower parts of them?
First of all, I just want you to know I friggin love this! I messed around with the Origins version and now I'm running around in DA2 snapping all kinds of shots lol
I have one question tho. When in combat, if I pause and run the script, it unpauses the game. With Origins, it stayed paused and I could get the action shot. I'm just wondering if I did something wrong or are we not able to pause and run the flycam in DA2?
You did nothing wrong. This seems to be an engine limitation introduced in DA2. Nothing I can do about it at this time but I might pursue some ideas when I do have time to think. No promises, though.
Unfortunately, no. It is only able to transition to the "Flycam" game mode from within the "Explore" and "Combat" gamemodes as far as I can tell. (haven't tested it on Chargen, but there seems little point there). In "Dialogue" or "Cinematic" modes, the switch, if triggered with my script, won't occur until the cutscene/dialogue ran its course.
I audibly gasped when I first saw this! I never thought a flycam was possible for DA2, but I've wanted something like this for years!! This is just straight up amazing, fastest endorsement I've ever given <333
