I'm not familiar with DAI mesh modding (Frosty is still in patreon for this) but I don't see why not.
Use NinjaRipper to rip the morph *and* the base head.
Get the normal rigged mesh/mmh with Blender. Export back out.
Use max to transfer the rigged mesh (from Blender) bone weights to the NinjaRipped base mesh.
Use a morph modifier so the vertices transform the rigged mesh into Cassandra.
Import the base DAI head in (or really any female human head) and line them up.
Create a SkinData copy of the CassDA2 head and remove the skin from the original. Add Skin modifier back and add the DAI bones. Transfer weights to new mesh (have to know which DAI bones align to what DA2 bones) then export out and do whatever has to be done for Frosty/DAImod. This method does eliminate weights for I think 3 or 4 bones which means certain expressions won't be as animated. But that can be manually weight painted.
Replace Cass textures with the DA2 ones. Probably have to do hair mesh editing.
And of course it won't have the same quality as the hi-res DAI version. A big problem I kept encountering were the eyes rotating out of the sockets. I'm not sure how DAI reacts to this.
oh thank you sooo much for this mod! I hate Cassandra's appearance in DA2, its so weird, I laugh out loud when I saw the first time (yep, I played Inquisition before DA2)
i'm confused about the Ferelden Cuts fix- does that mean she can now use other Ferelden Cuts hairs? (My DA2 is currently busted, so I haven't been able to properly try this out yet, sob...) Or was FC causing an issue with tihs mod?
The problem was that I named the hair I ported myself the same name as Ferelden Cuts which resulted in the game getting confused and using the Ferelden Cuts version - which placed it too high her head. The newer version uses my version. The mod still shouldn't be used with other hairstyles.
Hey it seems that there's a problem with the file for the default textures version. It appears to be using the face texture of the Ellise Version? I can send screenshots if it helps.
Double checked it and both are using the correct texture. Ellise's version is a very subtle change to primarily her makeup and brows. I should note on my screens that Ellise's version and the default version were taken in different lighting circumstances so it maybe skewing your perspective a bit. Doesn't help that the default screens she is *super* expressive. So that's on me. Bioware was very inconsistent with the lighting for the Cass/Varric scenes in both DLCs and base game.
Thanks for the reply. I figured that out when I finished Act I a few hours ago. I hadn't realized how similar the Default and Ellise versions were due to the lighting in the first cutscenes and since the Varric textures seem more distinctly different between the two versions.
