Preamble

I wasn't happy with some of the abilities in vanilla Dragon Age 2 and so, some years ago, I decided to figure out how to modify. Over the years I modified more and more abilities. A little modifikation here, a little modifikation there... Since ... 3 days ago I accidentally deleted my hole Dragon Age 2 override folder with no backup existing on my computer. So I had to do everything from scratch. This time I did it more .. organized... organized enough to upload it for you.

By the way Im sorry if some of my sentences seem odd - That is because english isnt my first language.

What this Mod does

This mod modifies restriction, cooldown, cost and more of all abilities of the playerchar and his/hers companions for a (hopefully) better gameplay experience.
I tried to upvalue abilities that are (in my opinion) not worth investing points in. (See "What Changes were done?" for all the dirty details).

Since this mod in its current state represents my personal taste and style of play and is influenced by other installed mods that alter things like difficulty, some changes could make some abilities become over powered. I also splitted the abi_base.gda so u can decide for each skill tree to be altered or not.

Compatibility

This mod is not compatible with mods that alter the abi_base.gda which means most mods that alter abilities.

However 
I splitted the abi_base.gda so u can decide for each skill tree to install or not. So if you, for example, decide to use my mod to alter the Two Handed skill tree but want to use another mod to alter the Weapon and Shield tree, this can work, if the author of that other mod only includes the modified part of the abi_base.gda instead of the hole file.

Install and uninstall

To install unzip the downloaded file and place the files for the skill trees you want to modify into your override folder.
To uninstall remove the files from your override folder.

You don't need to start a new game for the changes to take effect. 
You should start a new game if you use "more or less ability points" from miscellaneous files because these changes do not work backwards/retroactive.

Warrior - Warmonger

  • reduced Taunt cooldown to 10s
  • Bellow will reduce Taunt cooldown for another 5s
  • reduced Bravery cooldown to 1s
  • reduced upkeep cost of Bravery down to 5%

Warrior - Battlemaster

  • reduced Battle Synergy cooldown to 1s
  • reduced upkeep cost of Battle Synergy down to 5%
  • Battle Synergy now affects an area of 30m

Mage - Creation

  • reduced cooldown of Heal to 1s
  • therefore increased cost of Heal from 30 to 50

Mage - Force Mage

Mage - Spirit Healer

  • Since its impossible to modify Healing Aura so one can cast offensive spells while Healing Aura is active I tried to make it maybe a bit more worth it.

  • Healing Aura now grants + 400 health regeneration rate for all party members

  • reduced cooldown of Blood Magic to 10s

Anders

Merril and bloodmage Hawke do so much more damage than vanilla Anders, so I tried to make him worth it.

  • removed level and invested points restrictions
  • reduced upkeep cost of Vengeance to 5%
  • reduced cooldown of Vengeance to 10s
  • reduces the malus on damage resistance by Vengeance to 25% instead of 50%
  • increased the damage bonus by Vengeance to 25% instead of 10%
  • Wrath (updates Vengeance) reduces the malus on damage resistance by additional 5%
  • Wrath (updates Vengeance) increases the damage by additional 10%
  • reduced upkeep cost of Panacea to 5%
  • reduced cooldown of Panacea to 1s
  • Panacea now grants + 500 health regeneration rate for all party members
  • reduced cooldown of Regroup to 30s
  • increased cooldown of Regroup to 75
