About this mod

Makes hair look shiny like in Origins

Permissions and credits
INTRODUCTION

When I saw hair in DA2 I was disappointed. Most of tints imho result in "plastic" look which wasn't an issue in Origins where hair looked great with custom tints. This mod corrects that by replacing DA2 base hair texture with black alpha channel to the original Origins version.

DESCRIPTION

This mod makes specular lighting for hair work like it was in Origins. This is a REPLACER, it will change appearance of every original hair in the game and custom ones which are using original base hair texture. Which means all hair will look more like they did in Origins on the player character, companions and npcs alike.

VERSIONS

Version 1.0 includes Origins besic hair texture and a bit less glossy one if you prefer it (choose one of them).

Version 1.1 has another version of the base hair texture and several twicked original hair tints, both to reduce hair glossyness which Origins texture with vanilla tints provide. Hair texture and tints are separated in 2 different erfs thus they can be installed separately, for instance, tints from version 1.1 can be used with vanilla Origins texture of version 1.0 for more shiny appearance.

INSTALLATION

Extract the archive into the DA2 override directory

Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override

UNINSTALLATION

Remove hairtexture.erf and hairtints.erf from the DA2 override directory

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is compatible with any mod which doesn't directly change base hair texture and (for version 1.1) original hair tints, including possible future custom hair mods which will most probably have their own hair textures.

BUGS

None. But it makes defects of original hair meshes/skinning more visible on those hair models which have them.

CREDITS

To Bioware for the another awesome game.

To all tool creators who do great job to make it possible to mod DA2 even without Toolset.
