About this mod
A prologue save with vanilla Garrett Hawke (male warrior), decked out in a mage-looking suit of Champion\'s Armor and wielding the Champion\'s Blade, both of which will level up as the player progresses. Read the description for more info.
- Permissions and credits
This is a prologue saved game, with a regular warrior Garrett Hawke (vanilla face). He's wearing the Champion's Armor and wielding the Champion's Blade, both of which will grow in power as the player progresses (sort of like Fadeshear).
The armor is the *warrior* version, but I've tweaked it to look like the *mage* one (much cooler, IMO, especially the hood!), and the 2H sword, being really crappy ('cause it was from the fake intro battle), has been buffed a bit to make up for it (don't worry, nothing overpowered).
I actually made this for myself, because I hated looking at an ugly mish-mash of items while leveling (who wants to wait until Act 3 for the whole set?!), and wanted armor and a weapon that would last me throughout the game. Thankfully, with a few tweaks, both the Champion's Armor and Blade now level with Garrett, and will provide good protection and offense without being totally uber.
The items are a tad more powerful than what you'd expect of the gear of same level, but I've balanced it by taking out the rune slots from the armor, and by stripping away attack bonuses from the sword.
The armor itself still grants very nice bonuses which scale with Garrett's level, and the sword, apart from ignoring enemy armor, has 3 rune slots for you to play with.
There shouldn't be any problems with the save, but if there are, please let me know.

Edit:
Installation -> Unzip, and drop the 'Garrett1' folder into your X:\...\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age 2\Characters directory.
Update:
By popular demand, here's a save with a warrior Hawke wearing actual warrior-looking Champion's Armor. I've gone ahead and added a few more properties to both it, and the Champion's Warblade (all the items are now made of silverite, scale with Hawke's level, ignore attribute requirements, and bear marks of Ferelden heraldry). The talk around town is the Damien inherited this stash of items from a relative back in his own country before arriving in Kirkwall on a boat with other refugees.

Added two more saved games. They're basically the same thing, except I've gone and removed the DLC requirement (I have Signature Edition of the game) with pyGFF. This should allow people with only the vanilla game to play.
