About this image
I need help with extracting voices from Dragon Age 2. I have searched the Internet and tried the QuickBMS method, but it's not working. So, if anyone knows a way, or has extracted audio, please let me know!!! I found Fenris extracted lines on deviantArt, so I have him covered.
But still need from others.

1.) Download the ww2ogg program (https://github.com/hcs64/ww2ogg/releases) and extract/install if needed.
2.) Download the Pygff program (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4512/?tab=files) and extract/install if needed.
3.) Use Pygff to mass export the files inside of the VO .erf file of your choice. This will take a while, as there is thousands of files in each one. When done, this will put all the files in an unreadable .ogg format. That is what we want. So it's ok. There is a few more steps that will fix this.
• Core/Base Game will be the (wwisestreams__campaign_base.erf) file located in the (*:\****\****\Dragon Age II\modules\campaign_base\audio\vo\en-us\vo) folder. There is 35206 files in this one.
• Legacy DLC will be the (wwisestreams__da2_prc_drk_module.erf) file located in the (*:\****\****\Dragon Age II\addins\da2_prc_drk\module\audio\vo\en-us\vo) folder. There is 3790 files in this one.
• Mark of the Assassin DLC will be the (wwisestreams__da2_prc_eye_module.erf) file located in the (*:\****\****\Dragon Age II\addins\da2_prc_eye\module\audio\vo\en-us\vo) folder. There is 5788 files in this one.
4.) Put all of the unreadable .ogg files in to the ww2ogg folder (loosely, so don't slap it in there in a folder of it's own -- toss all of the files in there by itself). Again, this will take a while cause of there being thousands of files. It will look sloppy and messy in that folder afterward. Nothing we can do about it right now, so it is what it is.
5.) Before we move on to converting the files to a readable format, we need to create a .bat script which will allow ww2ogg to batch process the files, cause as it is, it can only do a single file at a time. There is over 40 thousands files if you include the DLC. Nobody wants that... If you're intimidated by this step, don't be. It's really simple.
• Create a new .txt file. Name it whatever you want.
• Open the .txt file and paste this in to it: FOR %%a in (*.ogg) do ww2ogg "%%a"
• Save the .txt file. Exit the .txt file.
• Right-click the .txt file, hit rename and change the .txt extension to .bat instead. Hit enter. It should warn you that changing an extension will potentially make it unusable, and it will ask if you're sure. Hit yes.
• Congratulations, you created a .bat script successfully. lol
6.) Now make sure the script we just created in step 5 is put in to the ww2ogg folder with everything else. Run the script. Grab some popcorn, sit back, relax, and watch as all of the files are converted to a readable format for you. Since there is so many files, it will take a VERY long time, especially if you get bold enough to do all 3 VO files at once.
All I can say is: have fun pulling your hair out trying to locate what you need. ^_^"
I was working on organizing the lines about a year ago myself, but circumstance made me stop (but I still have my progress saved on a USB). I had fully completed organizing Legacy DLC, got maybe half way done with Mark of the Assassin DLC, and then the core game... yikes. That one, I want to say I'm 1/20th of the way done with? There is just soooo many lines in that one, and I'm really stubborn, as I said before, so I was naming the files with what the line is saying, then slapping it in to the folder of the character the line belongs to, and my goober memory required me to sometimes listen to the line multiple times to even accomplish naming the file correctly, which was really slowing down my progress a lot, otherwise I'd probably have gotten done a lot more. ^_^"
